Here's something for you... i'll beat a stock evo on the highway anyday!! Now on the track is different as they are AWD. I've also beat up on older cobras and lots of GT mustangs. All in all i've got about 13k invested and i paid 16k for the car... so i'm at 29k. Still under the evo and way under the STI. Soon i'll have about another G invested for rods and the boost will be around 12psi for daily driving. This should put me around 250whp and 270wtq. STI's will fall on the highway i'm betting. As long as your realistic and worried about street PRIDE the lancer can be the most cost effective since most street "demonstrations..." he he... happen from a roll/2nd gear or above. Some food for thought Mitsu 03.

By the way stage 2 for RRM is already complete and available. For guys with rods and pistons soon i'll be tuning above 10psi to give them some more umph on pump gas. I'm going to put a limit of 12psi though as pump gas at 9.5:1 isn't going to be viable for much more boost. I'll leave stage XXX from RRM to deal with 13psi to 16 psi range providing you run race gas. We'll see.

Boe,
I noticed at the beginning of this thread that the non-ic @ 7psi dynoed at 200 whp. Is it safe on the stock engine to run it at 7 psi always?

Thanks.

You should be fine driving daily at that as long as you always use premium fuel. Correct me if I'm wrong, Boe.

Thanks,
Should I always be using that high of a fuel grade with my turbo. Or can I go cheaper if I turn the boost down to 6psi. Gas is @#!*ing expensive right now!!

I think you'd want to stick with high octane, although I think Boe turned his down to 5 or 6 for daily driving and ran 91. He would use 100+ octane at the track.

you have to use 91 or better for turbo all the time! Boosting 7psi on stock is fine.
