Question Our Lancers.....

Okay I was just wondering if our lancers were actually worth trying to make faster.....
Im only 18 right now and ive only focused on the interior/exterior of the car....
I know with RRM Turbo and all there other goodies we can get our cars to a good 210+ at the wheels but can our engines handle any more then that?
Cause I don't want to go half assed and put thousands into an engine that will only give me "maybe" 250 hp at the crank....
Does RRM plan to upgrade their turbo's? Do you think our cars will ever handle more then 250whp without NOS?

If not I think I would rather just save the thousands from the engine and eventually get a car that has actuall power like a TT RX-7 or maybe even a 3000GT VR-4

So basically what im asking is, is it worth to go with sum "go" in my car or just stick with show? will it will ever have the performance im looking for?

2 main things hold us back from being "good". front wheel drive (which is dumb as hell) because you cant accelerate at turns pretty much, and another thing is that our engine is sohc and probably cant handle much boost if we decide to turbo it. I would say hold all your money and save up. i know its really hard to keep it stock, but if you look at all the misfortunes of getting aftermarket stuff then youll see what i mean. nothing is perfect and i can almost guarantee that almost anything you get aftermarket will either not allow you to do something else or fall apart. just remember: almost any aftermarket item isnt as good as stock.

Boe's car now -IC/ 9 psi for sure 230ish w.h.p.
RRM Project Car- IC/ 11-13 psi projected 260-270 w.h.p. = 300 .h.p. at the crank.

REMEMBER WRX 227 h.p. is not to the wheels! Figure 180-90 to the wheels. We got that beat with 7 psi non-ic kit.
EVO 8 is 271 h.p. at the crank and 240ish to the wheels. Just some reference numbers for you.

This is the OFFICIAL word not speculation !

well I guess having a car just for show won't be too bad....
Ill prob just go with intake/exhaust..... for my "power mods"
hehe damn....

I have to disagree with this as there are many parts that work a lot better than stock.

Dont go with just intake and exhaust for performance mods. U will still be urging for more. An RRM turbo will give just about twice as much horsepower. Can you imagine your car twice as fast.

well ya I can but I don't think that I want to put "aprox." $8000 into an engine that wouldn't be more then 250whp......
If that's the case, I think ill just keep my lancer as a daily driver/show car and save up for sumthing worth the my "hp needs"

Have you ever driven a car with over 200 whp. Not 200 hp to the flywheel but over 200 hp to the wheels. Its damn fast and I can garuntee you would be happy with that.

I know to us who drive a 120hp lancer, that 250hp is alot and yes it is...... its just that I don't want to spend alot of money into and engine where Ill still get burnt by common cars like ur average GT Mustang which I think has 290HP?
Well for 1 thing I know is that I want an import..... something that will gaw drop mustangs when it's floored...
So that's y i am asking if its worth to go and spend money into and engine, or I should just go out and get a TT RX-7 or 3000gt vr-4 which come with 300+ stock HP

no I personnaly havent driven but one of my older friends works at a Subaru dealership and he brought me into an STI....
its like him barely pressing the gas down would be flooring it in my lancer lol..... I still remember my head flying back when he first got going.....
I was hoping that he would floor it and show me what it had, but he didn't even have to floor it to do so

I think that if you're a person without a large income and can't afford to buy a fast car, then the Lancer should do just fine. With a relative small income, you can add one or two aftermarket parts as you go along without spending a huge lump sum at once. With the RRM IC turbo, it would be fast enough for me. 200+ w.h.p is already faster than a WRX, and I really don't plan on drag racing, so more than 300 hp isn't a necessity. Besides, racing isn't all Fast and Furious straightaways. There are places that require good handling and driving skill. If anyone's seen the Initial D series, you know what I'm talking about hehe. If you haven't, check it out anyway, it's a good car/street racing anime.
