The Evolution VII's engine is oriented the same as ours if I'm not mistaken. It's been the same since the IV. Anyway...if you want a complete conversion then it's gonna cost more than both cars put together. If you want it to LOOK like an Evo, follow the steps everyone mentioned already. Personally I think you'd have been better off starting with an VIII though. You'd have 80% of it done already.

ok.... a skyline GTR is aprox $90,000 new....
anyways.... I think you should just keep the same Lancer engine.... just turbo charge it..... and with the extra money get the other things like.... Evo7 steering wheel.... Evo7 conversion kit.... Evo7wing..... and maybe sum racing seats..... and u should be good

I've seen imported Skilines in the US for as low as $40,000. But I still agree with you, he should keep the engine and turbo it. I would focus on things people will see as you drive down the street. Body, intercooler, seats, rims, brakes. Much fewer people are going to get to take a close look and even fewer will see the engine. And even if they do, you won't be able to hide it from them. But I am hoping you want people to swear to God you're driving an Evo as they see you cruise down the street.

Well so far all i have is:
evo vii kit with hood and wing
17" enkeis
turbo and i/c hks bov
one sparco seat...blue and black
purchasing tein s springs this weekend
that's pretty much it.....i'm installing the turbo right now and i think next i'm gonna save up for the headlights. I just want to put this to everyone's attention. i'm Trying to do something different. Not wanting to be faster, just want to resemble the evo vii the best I can. I know it won't be perfectly the same with the awd, yaw, and all that other crap...but at least exterior will look evo and i'll have a turbo....not many people can say that.........OR maybe some can. i don't know. but right now i'm doing everything at once. even with all the things i have right now....i'm waiting to put it all on once so i hit everybody with a bunny punch and a right cross. i think that would be better.

That is insane-You can make it look like an evo- but it will never be one. I know I am not the only one who has read this post and laughed there *** off.

First off. I'm glad you think what I'm doing to my car is funny agent 5568. Second, (other than the turbo) I'm mainly going for the looks, I know that it can never be an evo...but having it look like one would be nice because stock lancers aren't that great looking, especially stock lancers with big ralliart badges on the front grill, and the evo vii kit is the best looking one in my opinion.

Nothing really as of yet. The evo vii kit is on and the evo wing. Although unpainted. Decided to go with 18" focal f5's. Tein lowering springs. Racing seat and Sparco harness. SRI and about to put on my new custon N1 exhaust. (very excited to hear what that will sound like, I even had it angle out and up like on the civics and integras/its a mild bended straight pipe with authentic apex n1muffler)
The turbo I bought was bad. I'm needing to buy another one. I think the turbo wasn't timed b/c my mechanic here said there were small cracks from possible start ups with old oil. I do have the smic and decided to trade my hks ss bov for a greddy type s that was on my friends 1g awd eclipse. Made my custom up/down pipe with help from rre. And i'm wanting to be tinted soon. that's pretty much it.

then it's not a complete evo vii conversion then is it? i was really wanting to hear someone put an AWD tranny in the lancer..but o well, looks will be cool anyways.

are u really going with the side mount intercooler tho? i really think u should go with a front mount unless u're gonna be a "sleeper", which would be fine. As long as u put that turbo in there and support the looks with some speed best of luck to ya man, hope everything goes well..hit us back with a reply if u ever decide to put an AWD tranny in your car
