complete evo vii conversion...NEEDING IDEAS

i'm doing a complete evolution vii conversion on my lancer. so far the body kit is done and the turbo is almost finished and almost ready to be installed. the only thing I'm keeping stock is the stock motor for now. everything else is changing. even down to the 17" enkei wheels, but i decided to go with turbo first. anyways, i'm curious to what the pipe specs are for the lancer exhaust. I'm wanting to either buy the jdm blitz nur spec s which is the axle back pipe and they have it for the evo vii for close to 400. I'm wondering if that will matt to my exhaust? The specs on the blitz kit is 80mm. anyone have ideas?? or i'm going to buy the evo vii full catback JIC exhaust. i think this is what I'm weighing more to getting and just re weld some hangers to the muffler. Does anyone have ideas or new mods in mind I could do???

Your going to need a turbo and front mount intercooler. Brembo brake as well.

Without those people will spot your regular lancer for sure! Hope this helps fellow lancer brother.

I have a 2 step plan for converting a Lancer to an Evo7:

step 1: sell your Lancer
step 2: buy and Evo

Sorry, you knew it was coming. But seriously, if you want people to LOOK at your car and think without question that it is an Evo, go with the Evo catback and weld the rest up to it. It can't hurt to have a big exhaust, especially with the turbo pushing through it anyway. And I agree, the intercooler and brembo brakes (or at least upgrade to 4 wheel discs and paint the calipers red) are essential for the onlookers that will take a second look to decide if it's real or not. Best of luck!

dont foget the recaro Seats....and the steering wheel...and if ppl do think its a EVO...wut r u gonna tell them when they see u take off...and only ur front tires spin?? And ur head lights and tail lights look different to. Unless you've managed to swap them out. Don't really know anything other than that.

Your probably better off getting an Evo VIII and just changing the front bumper. Buy an Evo VII badge and wing.

so since everyone seems to just say the same thing as everyone else when this topic comes up (ie buy the evo). I'll say something different.

It sounds like you've already got a good amount of parts for it. I mean you've already bought the turbo it sounds like so stick with it. As far as what else you need, the brakes and FMIC are crucial, don't forget Recaros. I would say you should do just about everything you can do possible to stiffen the chassis, and lessen body roll ect... to make it handle better (ie like the VII). Don't let people get you discouraged, it sounds like you just want to do something original for yourself, so keep it up!

Does anyone has any idea how much recaros in the open market? At their low, 700 bucks is a norm for 1, and it can ballon up to 1.2K for one, depending on options.

Are you trying to swap motors or powering up the G94?

i think hes just buffin up his 4g94...steering wheel is crucial to, lol....see the 'evo' car with a OZ steering wheel? lol.

R u trying to make it as fast as one?? cuz....that looks really hard to do. Yeah u can get into the 13's and look pretty nice...BOE for example...im jealous of that guy. But some Evos break into 12's easily. And i dunno wut RRM's Drag Lancer will be doin, anyone else know?

Don't sell the Lancer and get an Evo...u seem to be pretty far already with everything you need.

You could do like in Monster Garage Etc. and just weld lots of bars to reinforce other bars....that i think would make it a lot more stable. Like if u saw the Toyota Tundra - Motorcycle Launcher, from T2 episode on Monster Garage you'll understand. They just took steel bars and cut and welded them to each other to make a nice brace etc....i think that could stiffen up the car a lot more maybe

just work on it, you'll eventually get to it..and i'd buy an Evo7 before i bought an Ev08

For reference, I called the Mitsu dealer and asked them how much for the Evo8 seats, and they said $4,000 PER SEAT!. Anyway, you could probably find them used for a lot less, or find out what model Recaros come on the Evo7 and buy that model or even something like it. Most people won't look THAT close, or even know which model of Recaro it came with. They just see the letters RECARO across the seat.

Oh, and don't forget to make your car right hand drive to look like the Evo7
