Yeah, I understand. I just can't find any competition for it. For example, the Jet chip doesn't seem to list the Lancer, and I wonder about a catch-all product for all non-turbo Mitsus. I do agree that all RRM products are expensive, but at least someone's making quality products. If I had bought a civic, I could get the same things for less than half the price. Competition brings the prices down, and the Lancer is new so competition isn't quite as strong. I'm sure in the future other companies will start making parts as well, and my $140 strut bar will sell for $50 all over the place. But oh well, I wanna win now!

I understand but by trying the right searches on your browser you can find more than what you are told to buy. Just like Nike and Tommy Hilfiger they are just names there are less expensive brands out there that put out a compareable product. the only name I have on my car for example is Rhys Millen but they were the only company that had what I wanted. Everything else I either did myself or setteled for a lower name.

yeah, what I have on my car represents the best I could find at the time I bought it. Maybe if JET listed the Lancer on their site somewhere I might have found them when I typed "Lancer ecu" "Lancer reflash" "Lancer computer" and "Lancer remap" into yahoo and google searches last June. But literally the only link that came up (regarding what I was really looking for) was links to different threads on evom talking about the reflash.

anyway, sorry to beat this to death, I'm finished. The fact now is that RRM doesn't offer them, and maybe JET does (just doesn't advertise that) for less.

You know I wasn't serious, man I love the ECU!
This post is the reason why I'm getting PM's about people wanting to buy the ECU off me.

No. It's similar to an AFC, but has more precise control and a lot more add ons (pressure sensor, additional injectors, etc) and I believe PC data logging capabilities as well. It can be used on both naturally aspirated and forced induction vehicles and, in my opinion at least, stands out as the best piggyback available for the Lancer on paper at least. I've never used one and I hear they're fairly difficult to tune, but if I can tune a standalone (not very well, but not too terribly) then anyone should be able to tune e-manage.

Hmmm, so should I look into selling my reflash and getting this emanage, or is the difference minimal? Or should I wait until I finish all of my engine mods and then have it done?

You'll likely lose a degree of stock driveability as opposed to the reflash (haven't been in a RRM flash car, but I'm assuming they did a nice smooth tune that doesn't change driving characteristics much). I doubt it will be bad though as you're ultimately still driving on the stock ECU (just with altered signals).

Looking at this, the e-Manage is REALLY REALLY REALLY versatile. With it you can basically adjust your fuel, your idle, ignition timing and then whatever need be. Click on the scans of the instruction manual. Even I didn't see the apparent usefulness of the e-Manage until I saw this. In theory if the reflash simply changed ignition timing and remapped the fuel curves, the e-Manage would be able to do that with the supplementary ignition harness option. The only problem is though per usual: would the ignition harness work with the Lancer's ignition and how much adjustability do you get with the fuel curve be it changing the location of the fuel curve itself or the values of the curve as well (since Road Race found out that things like the Apex'i fuel controller can't ADD fuel past stock values on the curve, hence them saying in their original reflash post why AFC's are really only useful to lean things out, which is useful to NA guys like myself though). Plus you'd also REALLY need to be careful as to when you make adjustments and how much your adjustments are changed over stock. Plus to adjust all those things to the degree of true usefulness, you'd need the e-Manage support tool. If anything I see a couple of things happening: a) Road Race begins to use the e-Manage in place of the reflash selling pre-tuned e-Manage units to customers be they turbo or NA. Best option for customers but the most time consuming for Road Race. b) Road Race uses e-Manage units only on their turbo'd cars but offers parameters for people who buy the e-Manage and Support Tool to tune an NA car c) you may just have to play with it yourself and hope you don't make your once nice iron engine block into a magma crater and d) reflashes could still be available but perhaps on a more expensive 1-1 basis. With the reflash gone and how I aimed at it really being the crux/pinnacle/final "go fast in a straight line mod" I'm really disappointed (since I could've gotten it last month save for an illegal u-turn ticket and loaning my brother $400 dollars) but if I can figure out the e-Manage and with enough help from tuners on the forum it could still be possible to net the same results.

For a point of reference, the cost of e-manage w/ ignition harness, support tool and and injector harness (good option for extra fuel if your stocks are near or at maxed IDC) is about 3/4 that of a standalone.

Looking at that link, that display monitor would probably fit in the cubby under the AC controls And since the initial unit can not adjust boost levels, it would be legal for people racing WRXs and Evos (or any original turbo car) in Solo2 autocross.

Anyone know if this can alter the rev limiter? I found the 6900 limit with the RRM reflash to be very useful in the October autocross when we reach speeds of 70 mph, as well as on the road courses so I didn't have to shift into 4th for 2 seconds.

Or can I use the emanage along with the reflashed ecu?
