Exclamation Exhaust leak under the hood...

aight, today i blew either my manifold gasket or the one between the header and downpipe... let me tell you, drive with the windows down if you have one. the carbon monoxide found its way into my cabin with ease, and after about 10 min. of driving, i got a bad headache. just wanted to warn people with any exhaust leaks under the hood, BE CAREFUL! gotta get it fixed asap.

yeah, i just want people to take those seriously, i do now... if you crack the windows, it seems to be fine, but i had the vents going and the windows closed, but not for long.

I had the same problem... the header/downpipe gasket broke cuz I tightened it too much.... well it crumbled and fell into the downpipe and was leaking like mad. I was sooo pissed.

This might be a little off topic, but is there any way to close the vents? I have all my controls in the off position and I still get air coming out my vents when I drive.

you can somewhat close them by turning the little dial right next to each vent all the way up or all the way down, not for sure on which way, but they somewhat close off the vent.

as long as you're moving forward air is flowing through the vents. best bet is to do what ^^^ said and close them with the little dial next to the vents.

my gasket is broke righ tnow too, not too bad, getting it fixed tomorrow, but i find the best way to keep all that bad fumes out of your cabin (i have no cats) is to ALWYAS use the recycle button, but put it on while your moving when the air is fresh, iwhen im stopped at a lgiht i can smell it getting pushed into the cabin, but if you recycle the air it wont push in from the outside that way you can still take advanatge of your a/c / heat

You should be able to close the vents by having the temp control set to MAX AC but have the AC Fan turned off. But as said above, there is still SOME air coming through.
