Looking at getting a Lancer
I had a 2009 rx8 and traded it in for a lancer gts, 2011 model. I like it a lot. It's no where near as fast as my Rx but it's sure more comfy. I could afford the ralliart but I drive manual and my dealer only had the ralliart in cvt. Plus the only reason I got the gts was because I wanted to save gas on my commute to work. I drive 30 miles both ways and another 20 when I go hang out with friends and go out. So the rx8 was getting 16mpg and I was spending 120 or more a week on gas since the Rx requires premium gas and a quart of oil every other fill up. So if you want to save on gas and insurance I'd get the gts or the ES and then add a few mods I won't mod mine, I just need something that looks sporty and gets good mpg and so far it's a good car. I've had it for a week now. I do miss shifting at 6000+ rpms in my rx8 though.
I got a new (10 miles on it) leftover 2010 GTS Sportback from Huntington Beach Mitsubishi for $17,000 out the door (2K rebate on them still). Both they and South Coast have a few left at that price - basically the standard GTS with CVT as the only option. I was looking at 2011 ES models at my local dealer and they were that much before tax and license. It was worth the plane flight to SoCal to pick one up.
