Looking at getting a Lancer

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum. I'm looking at getting a 2010 or 2011 Lancer DE or SE, I want to know if you guys have had any major issues with your cars and what I should look out for. I figured this would be the best place to find reviews of these cars. Thanks

LET ME SAVE YOU A HEADACHE AND CASH

Take your money, go drive to Buffalo, find a lancer buy the DE, save your self like 7000 $ and then come back here and upgrade the hell out of your car.

If I could do this all over again I would have just bought the car south of the border. The saves is fully justify it. And if a dealership tells you that your warranty is void, slap them and tell them you dont care. Cause with the money you are saving, you can fix just about anything on your own.

Thats the best advice I can give. Get a base package and do all the body styling and power upgrades later with the money you save.

That's what I want to do so I can make the car my own, I've already been looking at rims and tires, and etc.

Sound advice. Warranty is BS if you want to mod.

lancer DE would be boring, i agree there, but im having plenty of fun with my SE 2010. But like they say, if you wanna mod the whole car, try getting one slightly damaged or used one, and have fun with it. Ill will do that only when my warranty voids lolll

had a 2009 lancer ES never had problems with it. Just the usual regular oil changes, and the tail light bulb went out at around 60k miles but that was an easy fix

when i say never had problems i mean NEVER. car is a daily driver. good on gas. if you are just a student I would start off with this car. The others that say save up and get an RA or an EVO is getting raped with gas prices and maintenance right now. Start off with this car and down the road like me, when you graduate college and have a decent job, go get your dream car

Ya fuel economy is fairly important to me, I was going to get a pickup truck but the first time I filled my dads truck up and it was $120. so I decided to get a more economical vehicle.

Your looking at a DE Lancer, nothing on this car voids warranty. For a lancer the only mod you have to be worried about would be piggyback mods. anything to do with splicing wires to the ECU. And Lowering Springs will get you into trouble.

The car in the picture has coilovers. At the end of the day. I guarentee you, the money you save will pay for everything you see here and be cheaper than a GTS. My main point is, you can do anything to you car. You just have to be mindful of warranty problem areas. But the cant void your warranty for no reason.

^Very nice car, I wouldn't put any mods on that would void my warranty, nor put a lowering kit on because I need some ground clearance for driving through some good old Canadian winters.
