Lancer won't start, help?!
Lancer won't start, help?!
So I drive a 2006 Lancer Raliart, 2.4L, and it won't start, here's what I've tried, and the problem:
My fuel light came on, I drove for about twenty kilometers, filled up with shell v-power premuim, as per usual, (91 Octane), then drove about 30km on the highway, all was well, I cruised throughout the city, doing my errands, etc, getting out of the car between 5 and fifteen times, starting sounded normal, then I was stuck in traffic in edmonton, alberta, for two hours, moving about fifteen feet at a time before I finally got onto the highway again. Drove about twenty kms, stopped for some food, got back into my car, and it wouldn't start. (58 kms on the full tank)
Sounded to me like the battery was dead, as it was turning over, but not starting, like it just didn't have enough juice. I checked for vapor lock by opening gas cap, tried boosting it, then let it sit overnight, and hauled it home today. I listened to the fuel pump with the key on, and it sounds like it/s pumping. Tried boosting it once more, no go. Tried pull starting it (5-speed), checked fuses for fuel pump and ignition.
I've only had it for about 5000 kms, and it's currently at 158,000, but I swapped plugs when I got it, (with what I was told were OEM replacement), fresh oil change, and have only run premium for the while i've owned it. As long as i've had it, it doesn't have trouble starting, but sorta takes a second or two to turn over, like it has weak battery, sorta whiir-whiir-start sounds, even when hooked up to charger/booster cables. Now it's doing the whole whiir-whiir-whiir-no start thing. Anyone, help?

Could be the fuel pressure regulator .
But can be anything else , check for spark and fuel pressure .
One way of checking the FPR is try cracking it with the fuel return hose off "Warning if it is working it will shoot fuel"
