IM STILL NOT CONVINCED

I NEED SOMETHING, AND THE LANCER IS NOT IT. IVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS THING. GAUGE MALFUNCTIONS, PAINT CHIPPING, HEADLIGHTS BURNED OUT AFTER 5000 AND 7100 MILES. TRANSMISSON WOULDNT SHIFT FROM 3RD TO FOURTH. I DONT NEED THESE PROBLEMS WITH A NEW CAR!!

I guess I started off trying to convince, but, really, if it's not for you, it's not for you. This is the first time I've heard of any of those problems (other than the paint problems on the moldings... that's been a problem, but, the dealerships have been really cooperative to help fix the problems when the occur). I've also been told that Mitsu pretty much always has pretty quality transmissions... this is the first tranny problems I've heard of other than LancerOnNOS's problems, but, that appears to be related to the bottle. I'm going on 10K, and I haven't had ANY problems. But, if that's what's happening... good luck finding a new car.

B, I guess you're saying you can't find a better deal car wise than the Lancer? I mean, something at that price, with that base power, and those features? Hmmmm.... So, Street over hear has a good point? No way...

True... it's a econo car for the most part, but, it has the potential... and I'm one of only three in the DFW area that has so much as an exhaust... and one of those is about to go under because they're gonna try to boost it... amateur shop trying to run 15 psi without strengthing the engine... Don't think it's gonna work...

Sorry, not to poke fun, but... yellow car... lemon... somebody else see the funny side of that?

Seriously though, it sounds like you got ahold of a bad car. Sucks that that's gonna be your experience with Mitsu, but, that's the way the cookie crumbles. I'm sure there is some legal recourse, but, I'm not sure... gonna have to talk to someone else about that.

Rather have a zx3/5 or p5, seems a lot of people paid just over 18k for their oz's so my first list still holds true

Alright alright... we agree to disagree... don't want to make this a big deal...

And, I personally don't care for the foci, but, the aftermarket isn't what one would call insignificant. As for the P5, yeah, I like it alot, and it's gonna be the next car I buy ... for my wife... she's even agreed to some minor mods... yipee.

In any case, I think I'm just tryig to say that it's kind of hard to find this good of a deal on a car, and, I think that's safe to say. My ES was 13K, and granted, that was bare bones (the only option was the spoiler, really), but, a bare bones focus has basically none of the same options, and is about a grand more. For an OZ it would have been 16K at the dealer I went to, so, that was what I was basing it off of. But, I'm thinkig I'm done posting on this subject.

Honda Civics aren't race cars. Mustang GTs aren't race cars. BMW 330cis aren't race cars. Gee, seems like everything less than an M3 GT, Saleen S7, Ferraris, Lambos, and special edition cars aren't race cars. Trick is making yours act like one, even if it isn't even on the same level, and never ever will be.

Thing about real race cars is that not everyone can afford them.

Hell, even the new Evo, if you'd been reading the Evo Rumors, won't be much of a car [compared to a real Evo that has the big ol brembos, computer controlled drivetrain and AYC]. Basically, it seems like it's going to be this Lancer with a turbo and AWD. Kinda like a base WRX, but, at a 30K price tag. So, go ahead and wait for that.

This is a grocery getter if its stock, and can be more with patience, work, and just less money than it would be to buy a higher end car [this is if you just do simple bolt ons and keep it N/A... my budget is 2K, which will make it 15K I spend overall on this car] to get similar performance.

If you think that me and B talking about other cars in a similar price range is off topic... that's debatable.

I mean, you're both right. Anything can be made into a race car. I was directing mine at the complainers who aren't willing to fork out the dough, even on an economy car upgrade, and think that they've been ripped off for buying what they had no clue what was. Make sense? Hope so. But, I'll stop the nonsense now. Too serious for me. I'll just ask questions from know on.
