I need tourqe!

Ok, well after installing my RRM header and SRI, and having a catbak exhuast. My car is a lot slower off the line. I have a 02 Cavalier almost stock (CAI, exhaust) beating me now and I took him by like 3 car lenghts when I was stock. He doesn't win by much, maybe half a car now.

I can beat a lot of cars going from a roll of about 40-45mph.

So I was wondering. What mod can I get next that will give me better off the line. Maybe a TB or intake manifold. Also will the new RRM Piggyback get me off the line better, cause I'm getting that in the next few months.

Oh ya, damn! With exhaust,SRI, and headers.. my gas mileage is . It sucks! Anything I could do for that too? Besides not race around so much.

I wish they had cams for our cars.

I have auto, the only real way I launch my car is hold brake and gas at same time. No real kind of launch there...

trottle body and intake manifold should help..im guessing the intake manifold is more restrictive than the throttle body so if u were to get one of the two, go for the intake manifold.

A cam will kill your torque and yes they do have them (RPW). The piggy back should improve both your torque and mileage

Ya I heard about RPW's. They aren't very reliable and that great?

Hmm maybe I will get the intake manifold soon, then get that piggyback in a few months.

no, they're reliable and great at about 4k and up. otherwise we would have heard from uranium9v or pjal. find a substitute 2.5" pipe in place of the rubber stocker to gain a bit of torque, tho it won't be much. put the stock ram snorkel thing to get a bit of cold air back into the engine bay.

www.rpw.com.au but order from www.visionimports.com

yep..intake mods will help your low end torque, exhaust mods will help your high end..that's of course very basic for NA cars..

4k and up.. that's what my header did. I need 1k-4k heh. And the stock snorkel doesn't fit with the RRM sri.. or I would have done that. I might get the RMR one?

Is everytime I add a mod on, is my gas mileage going to keep going down? Or does a mod actually increase or keep the same gas mileage? I filled my tank up to half 2 times yesterday and came home with a 1/4 tank left.

try putting your stock muffler back on, you'll get more torque

1) spark plugz and spark plug wires = more efficient spark, which will give your low end, actually your entire power band, a much smooth slightly quicker pickup

2) sticky tires

p.s. intake manifold shouldnt be too hard, the only reason it isnt that fun is that there isnt much room to work with

Bigger filter on that SRI https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...I&pagenumber=2

Did you take out the cat? Put it back!! Our little NA motors DO NOT LIKE wide open. I hate to shout, but there have been at least 6 threads exactly like this in the past three months. All the same problem, all the same solution.
You probably got talked into 2.5" or bigger on that catback, too, right.

It's all covered here ---> https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=48382

Fair warning, it'll make your brain hurt I think everybody involved in the discussion was taking ibuprofen by the bottle.
