Question Best Trim To Mod?

I was reading about the bad news in the rumor section about the Evolution coming to the U.S. I guess curiousity caught me. I know that I want an Evo for sure. Lets just say the there is an Evo trim that is just the bare minimum(RS), and a Ralliart version(GSR) with all the bells and whistles. Which would be the best to mod? I know that the RS would give you more mods for your money but the GSR has all the bells and whistles stock and having them under warranty is also a great option as well. So would the warranty sacrifice be worth the amount to saving money on more mods? This seems to be the big issue in the bad news thread in the rumors section. Whether its still an Evo even without the stock GSR stuff and than the issue comes up about its still an Evo even without that stuff on. But which would be better to mod?

From reading the rumor forum, it seems like the US Evo will be lacking things like AYC, ADC, bembro brakes, etc. to make the $30k cutoff.

There's also a thread that speculates that there might be a Ralliart Evo version that will come with AYC, ADC, bembro's, etc.

In that light, I suppose if you really want the best possible performance, it would make sense to go with the Ralliart Evo instead of the stripped down US Evo.

Lets say that the AYC and ACD were options on getting the RS in the U.S. The Ralliart version would get everything as in AYC, ACD, upgraded suspension that is stock on the JDM Evo GSR, etc. If you were to buy the Evo RS with the options on whether you want AYC and ACD or just either one. You would save money and rather than getting the brembos you could get better brakes with the money you saved and if you plan to really mod the Evo a bit more you would change the FMIC, suspension, etc. I'm not talking about stock better performance but modding it that much more to is it better to keep the warranty on the great stuff stock or saving the money and having more mods to buy.

Well that's just it. We don't know if ACD/AYC will even be options or just not offered at all. Like most other things regarding the US Evo, it looks like we'll just have to wait, and see.

Or rather, you'll have to wait, and see. It'll be quite a few more years until I'm seriously considering an Evo.

darthchung, I know that "we" don't have solid info on that, that's why I said "Lets say". Claudius, although the weight advantage is to the RS-II and RS, wouldn't that weight advantage be gone once you put the bigger and better brakes and with the Cusco LSD on? Could you also tell me if there are better brakes than the stock Brembos? Everyone talks about the Brembos like they are the best brakes but is there something better for road/track use? I thinking maybe going with snelson's idea of keeping the ACD and just changing the ecu to a sports ecu.
