what has mitsu done for you lately?

so i have some dings and chips on my lancer and needed some touch up paint. i called up mitsu and they ordered it for me. a couple days later that had my paint and i picked it up free of charge.

i don't know about you guys, but thats about the only thing mitsu has ever done for me. but it was unexpected. i guess it's the little thing in life.

so has mitsu done anything for you guys that you wouldn't have expected?

The only thing my dealer did for me was repaint my fender for me. After about 6 months the left front fender was fading big time and I take care of my car with wax and polish. So I took it in and I had to wait until the district manager came in. Brought it in again and he said the fender had been repainted because you could see the spray line under the hood. I told him I did not repaint the fender, and after some more discussion he said they would repaint the fender. He said it could have happened at the factory if the fender got nicked. So they repainted it for me for free.

I guess I have a "heavy heel" but my carpet wore through in the spot where I rest my foot while I drive. I mean all the way down through the padding. Note: Floor mats in my color were not available when I bought the car, and were on order.

Anyhow, I went back to the dealer that I bought the car from and showed him the damage. Basically, though the car was only three months old (bought it in January), he stated the damage was beyond normal, and that trim pieces were not included in my warranty.

It was a pain in the butt, but I was finally able to get the carpet and three other things (passenger side mirror, center dash vent, and 12-volt outlet) fixed in November of last year.

I had concerns with the cheap paint used on the car, and was told it wasn't covered under warranty, either. A Factory District Representative personally came to my house (only blocks away) and delvered me a complimentary bottle of the wrong color Touch-Up.

I got the feeling from the beginning that Mitsi didn't care about customers. A year, later-I am convinced!!

I just took my car in to have my Toyos mounted and then get an alignment (kill two birds with one trip, blah blah). After quoting me 2.5 hours, I drop the car off at 7:30. And waited. And waited. Finally, the manager shows up 15 minutes late and opens. My ride was late to work. I wait at home. At 10:30, I call. Not done, needs more time. At 11:30, same. At 12:30, I just get a ride to work. They finally finish my car at 4:30. It took them 9 f***ing hours to do a 2.5 hour job. This will most certainly be my final trip to Mentor Mitsubishi's service department. That's what they did for me lately. Grrrrrrrr.

when i went to the dealer to get oil filters and crush gaskets the guy behind the service counter asked me if i was a member of the "turbo club". i told him i wasnt and he said next time just say you are. he gave me the discount anyway. each oil filter cost me under $5.00.

I always order parts from the local dealer with the promise of "We'll call you when it's in. It will be about a week". Then when 2 weeks go by without a phone call, I show up wondering where my parts are and they're sitting right there. I got mad after the second or third time, and they could tell I was pissed off, so I got a free hat with orange flames on it. that I'll never wear.

I had a seal leak in my clutch and basically lost my clutch and couldn't shift. I drove the car to the dealership in 2nd :\

The service dept was just like I had thought they'd be. Quiet and to the point. I got the car there at 8am and waited around for a time quote, they said noon. At around 11am I got tired of waiting and one of the nice and jovial sales reps drove me up to the local movie theater. I thought hey, I'll see a 2 hour movie and when I'm done I can walk back and get my car... WRONG.... :\

I called, not done.. I then went for sushi.. took my time, went to best buy.. it's now 3pmish.. call.. not done... I walk back to the dealership anyways. They managed to get the car done by 5.40pm. I'm overjoyed... its all covered by warranted so no money lost.. I leave.. get 5 minutes away and notice they havne't hooked up my temp gauge.. I panic.. it's very close to 6.... can I get back in time?? will I need to leave it over night!?.. I speed back they take it back into the shop and 3 minutes later drive it out.. (first bit of luck).

That was my story... No loaner car, close to 10 hours to fix it (on the work order it was noted as a 3hr job) I did get to see LXG though and get to ride in a 99 Diamante..woot!

That's what they've done for me lately..

Well, my family's been dealing with Mitsu for a long while. My mom is driving a 1999 Galant. She drives around 40 miles one way to work and the dealership on the way is around 15 from home and 25 from work. When she leaves her car, the sales MANAGER (yes manager) drives her to work. Then he picks her up when she gets off, at 5, in the middle of rush hour. But, mind you, she does go in once a month to have her tires balanced, rotated and oil change when needed and has probably put only a few hundred dollers in her car for the occasional losing of a tire valve cap. So, thus far, Mitsu has been extremely nice to her at least....

Now, for me trying to buy my car is a completely different story. We all show up in my dad's PT Cruiser and the lady's nice but is running us around in circles trying to make us buy it for 3k more than what's on the car. My dad finally told her "Look, the sticker says 15$$$ thousand and you're wanting to charge me 18$$$ then I have no reason to speak with you anymore. Are you willing to lose my money due to trying to haggle me?" No answer from her. He looks at my mom, my mom looks at me and we get up and walk out. "I hope things don't go like this next time I try to buy a car," he says as he leaves the room. So, other than that I've never had any expierence with a bad Mitsu dealer and I always go to local shops anyway. But, my .02 cent.
