Does the 2002 have a SOHC or DOHC? I thought it was SOHC. The drop down says DOHC, does it matter which it is?

Can you please not type in ALL CAPS. Thanks.

I've never heard anything good about OBX. The first thing I would do is call the vendor and make sure the product actually exists. Last year there was a HUGE catalog of OBX parts for the Lancer. Problem was none of the parts were made, it was a "coming soon" kind of deal. If it was my money, I'd spend a little more and get the RPW headers from Vision Imports. The RPWs are a "known quantity" and will give you definite results.

Oh, and can you look on the left of your keyboard, the key just left of the "A". It should read "Caps Lock". Press it once. Thanks

its cheap .. but in the world of performance parts, you get what you pay for IMO.

Their site lists: "Mits. Lancer 02- 2.0L DOHC"

Our car os a SOHC (single over head cam), not a dual. I'd be iffy on buying these without calling them and getting a pic of the ExACT header.

Would it matter if it's SOHC or DOHC. Aren't the gases exiting out the same hole? Sorry for my naive question, I don't know much about the engine itself, just where parts go.

yeah i was thinking the same thing, i don't think Headers matter on whether its SOHC or DOHC, but given the 'coming soon' parts they had i doubt it...

Read up on OBX's illustrious history dealing with parts for the Lancer. Repeatedly users have brought up their products only to learn the application is for the 4G93 1.8L Mirage engine or a part OBX thinks will fit, but not with fabrication/modification of some sort. Run a search for OBX and that'll probably help you out.

see, you may pay 200$ for the header, but then if it dont fit u will end up paying more in the long run to make it fit.

just spend the little more and get ones that are proven and guranteed to fit.

If they don't know that the lancer is SOHC, that my not bode well for their quality.

I'd just get the Kamikaze's if you want to do the "cheap" header.. the Kamikaze's have been doing well.. otherwise spend even more and go for the RPW's or the RRM's.. but there doesn't seem to be anything good to say for OBX

i wouldnt trust it.. the '02 lancer is SOHC.. not DOHC. so that alone makes it sketchy. unless it was just a typo.. but i dunno.
