i just got a new spoiler! dont wanna tell you guys which one yet cus ill try to post pics of it soon...but it doesnt have the 3rd brake light...what can i use as a 3rd brake light and where can i find it...any evo guys with the low oz wing wanna sell their 3rd light thats mounted in the back of the cabin...anyy suggestions?

 

well since i don't know what wing you got, i don't know if a 3rd brake light would matter or look good with what you have.

 

evo 8 wing u have correct?.. You would have to take a light like from the back of an oz spoiler, drill out the spot for the light and wire it in, look at kontra's wing im pretty sure hes got a light in his evo7 spoiler u can ask him

 

kontra's wing is the RMR wing without the center post, thus explaining his 3rd brake light. i called mitsu before asking if they would be able to order me a 3rd brake light just in case i wanted to get an evo wing and they said they could get it to me for 55 bucks. so just call your mitsu dealer.. im sure they would order one for you. just make sure they order a 3rd brake light from a wingless OZ, not from a es/ls so you get the dark graphite color.

yo rigo ... i did this cause i got pulled over for no third brake like ... take the brake like from the oz spoiler and put it on ur back window... cut the wire from the inside of the trunk (make sure u have a lot of slack) and then rewire it...

an evo will only have a 3rd light in the cabin if it has an Evo 8 spoiler or no spoiler.. if it came with the dinky wing then it wouldnt come with the cabin brake. no sense of having four brake lights ...

 

If you're selling your oem spoiler, why not trade the buyer's in cabin light? Otherwise, I heard you could run the wire to an LED that you drill a hole in the wing for. Either way should work.

 

yeah i should have gotten that 3rd brake light...maybe ill ask the guy for it

 

but will the LED work when u brake? or will it just be a red light all the time? ... i was thinking about just buying a neon and putting it on my back window but then again it only has a pos. & neg. wire... no wire for the brake
