Fading Lights ?

On my 03 lancer oz, the dashboard lights seem to be getting dimmer, but only at the bottom of the cluster. I can't see the odometer at night. Also today my rear brake lights went out, but the center (3rd eye) light is fine as are all the rest of the lights. Any suggestions ?

Did you ever attempt disassembling a speedometer before? I don't think it's possible to replace those bulbs, but I'd give it a shot on a already broken speedometer.

Fading Lights

Speedo/Tach, etc work fine. Also the lights to the ac knobs will go out, but will come back with a smack to the area. No other problems or odd smells like burning wires. Was hoping the rear tail lights would be simple and I could get my fix-ti ticket done asap

Your dash has several little lights illuminating it. You can replace these pretty easily by pulling the cluster out. Probably just have the bottom ones burnt out. As far as your tail lights are concerned, fuse? and if thats fine then check for power at the bulb.

check for a loose ground wire on tail light harness.. mine was loose and causing them to not come on..
if thy are loose, you can push them back in easyly and secure them with electrical tape.
or if connectors are bad this site > http://www.autolumination.com/ has replacement sockets for the tail light harness.

but i would check the ground on the harness first and then go from their

I am having the same problem with my lights behind my A/C controls. How do I go about removing them and replacing them?
