dynos suck
Actually, looking at his graph, his hp was still climbing when he let off the gas. Mine, on the other hand, was starting to diminish before he ended the test, so I did get peak numbers. Of course, I informed him that my rev limiter was raised to 6900 and I think he went pretty close to that. Hard to tell since my graph shows mph. For my own peace of mind and to be modest and safe, I'll guess no more than 5 hp difference for pulling in 4th gear.

thanks and all for the respect. the question of the day is if gears do skew hp. if a gear is a torque multiplier, and hp is a function of torque, does the overall curve of both hp and tq change between 3rd and 4th? that's what i'm getting at. is there any discrpency from pulling in 3rd as opposed to the 1:1 gear of 4th?
oh, I'd lose torque? Darn. No matter, I autocross in 2nd anyway. And I agree, those guys were really cool, adn very close by for me. I plan on seeing them again when I finish my engine work. It may be a slow car, but it's gonna be a fast slow car

You've read the dyno wrong. TQ dropped below the 5K mark as it should be. HP peaked around the 5800-5900 mark.
but see its an equasion, perfect one infact, you gain hp and you loose tq if its up to me i would take tq because thats what makes your car live in 0 to 30 and 0 to 60, just a thought

Also, Mitsu designed the G94 w/ TQ in mind. It won't go out of whack w/o upgrading a cam.
On the EVO, that cannot be said true once you start upgrading. You can gain it w/ tuning a bit, but ultimately HP will win out. How do you gain massive TQ on the Evo motor . . . easy, use the G64 crank. Thereby, you will get even TQ and HP figure by sacrificing a bit of top end rpm.
Hey rhyzin its me Eckers! lol, chris right? and im sure u forgot my name already but its all cool. dont wanna go too off toic but did u end up making it to the meet?
o and btw the people over at LA performance were very cool people, and, even though i didnt dyno my car i learned a **** load of new stuff, and got free pizza!

damn, i can't remember your name. i really really tried to remember but i have the ****tiest memory. but i remember ecrs! hehehe. sorry man. but yeah, i made the meet... really late! stupid 405. took me 2 hours to drive 70 miles! that has never happened to me before without there being an accident. stupid LA traffic.
got to the meet late and everyone was gone within 20 mins of me getting there. so i went to go eat dinner with the people that were left at some restaurant called BJ's. it was pretty good but it took 2 hours to seat all 17+ of us.... that sucked. but overall was a good trip down south.
