dynos suck
Best run #1:
temp: 62.67 | press: 28.74 in-Hg | SAE 1.02
116.32hp @ 5850
122.62tq @ 4500
interesting run #2:
temp: 63.06 | press: 28.73 in-Hg | SAE 1.02
116.05hp @ 5950
122.82tq @ 4450
crappy last run:
temp: 63.28 | press: 28.74 in-Hg | SAE 1.02
114.67hp @ 5750
122.63tq @ 4550
the guy did 3rd gear pulls and stopped around redline. the thing though is that he fell short of it a bit every time and the closer he got to 6k was where my peak hp was. could that mean i'm making power at or above 6k?
found an SAE calculator and figured SAE should have been 1.05 given the data on the dyno sheet, elevation of the city i was in, and humidity. humidity only changes SAE number in the thousandths and not hundredths. looking at the Dynojet owners manual (online) there is no account for elevation that i could find. an SAE of 1.05 would give 119hp and 126tq, which was close to my goal of 120hp and hopes of the same or better torque.

****ty AF curve, i know.
engine mods:
2G eclipse GSX fuel pump (120lph)
RPW 1.7:1 rising rate fpr (44psi@idle)
RPW 4-1 header
short ram intake made from the short piece of AEM CAI
Ractive stainless steel filter with heatshield
3G eclipse MAS
Apexi SAFC
RRM axelback exhaust
4 gauge ground kit
future (waaaaaay future, probably in order) mods:
DIY PnP intake manifold
Greddy Emanage
full catback exhaust
RRM TB or get a 1G eclipse TB to work
DIY PnP head w/ 5+ angle valve job (valve job to be done by machinist, of course)
DIY? all you need is a die grinder and the correct bits.

what kind of DYNO? I hear you should use 4th gear because its the closest to a 1:1 ratio. I used a dynojet in 3rd with: RRM header, testpipe, SRI, and RMR axleback. I got 109hp at 5800 and 114 ftlbs at 4400. (went to rev limiter)
just saw you were on a dynojet.
just saw you were on a dynojet.
How did you figure out rpm? Do you have some calculation from the gearing? I'd like to find out exactly what rpm my hp and torque fell at, but don't know the exact ratios. Also, I was on my racing tires, so my car the speed will be off by a tad.

really?! So that means my numbers would have been a bit higher too! What I got was pretty much what I expected, so hearing this makes me want to do it again the right way. It didn't occur to me until today that he should have done it in 4th.

those guys just got the dyno (so they seem NewB'ish) and it was my first time dyno'ing. i'm feeling a bit bitter now, but i guess it'll do until next time.
Brian, it was just the way he printed out my sheets. you can probably make a graph with those numbers you posted on the other thread. tedious, but would do the job.
anyone know where that dyno sheet with the rrm piggyback that got 127hp go? i can't find it. it's basically what i'm shooting for.

???? you've got to be joking. what car and mods? my pda dyno logs at 133 hp for my car with corrections in being in 3rd gear. the dynojet instruction manual says to dyno in 4th only. the pda dyno makes claims to being as accurate as a dyno jet and now what you said may make it seem a bit true.

but its fun working on them little by little and watching your hard work and sweat pay off.
