hello, new lancer here

hello. just joined this forum since it has a lancer section. been into cars for a couple of days... ha. just bought a 2013 lancer ES. looking into putting some wheels on it. maybe some aero. this is my new daily driver that is kid friendly. really like the look of the lancers. couldnt justify getting an evo since this is going to be the main highway family car. maybe once the wife gets rid of the 4wd outlander and gets a mpg friendly car I could justify an evo daily. but not now..

dont have any pics of the stock lancer. but here are some of my weekend car

been looking into 18" wheels for the lancer. really would like to stick with a 205-215 tire for mpg. what size wheels and offsets seem to work with no rolling? Ive seen some 18x8+35 that look like they fit nice.

and a huge question is what to do with the front bumper...needs work. do any of the v-lip fit a 2013?

90 views and not a single hello.... ha

took the lancer out on its first family trip. it did great. on the trip there, it had to overcome a good head wind and 75 mph driving. after filling I got 32 mpg. not bad. not great. seems that this car really likes to be 55-60 for mpg. I did better on the way back.

I missed MOD last weekend due to the trip...booo

still need some help with figuring out wheels and tires! anyone know what the largest wheel and tire you can put on this without mods?

With 18x8 you should Ideally go with 225/235 however offset +35 ?

Well if you can stretch the 215 tire on 8" rim then that would be ok. However please keep in mind that tire sidewalls normally should be straight. If you stretch the tire then it no longer can give the other way and can cause skidding under high speed when you go in to a corner.

If you want fuel economy then look for OEM GTS / Ralliart wheels swhich are 18x7 with 215/45 tires.

Congrats on the ride. I myself just started not long ago with 2013 SE. I was able to pick up 18x8 wheels ET40. Have not mounted them yet. With minimal/no drop I should be ok with 235/40. Not too concerned about fuel economy.

thanks for the info!

I did not know that the oem gts/ralliart wheels were 18x7. nearly all the "cool" aftermarket wheels Ive seen in an 18" are 7.5" or wider. I dont think that the stock offset of those GTS wheels will get me where I want and Im not a fan of spacers. but for the right price, on the purchase of a GTS wheel, I would.

I could have bought a fully loaded GTS for only 1k more than mine but didnt want the "big" motor. ha.

post up some pics of those wheels when you get them mounted.
