Shift Rail
Shift Rail
Hey Just wondering if anybody is willing/able to make something like this
I would PAY GOOD MONEY if i could get this for someone, and its the rail part of it. For 2002 OZ 5-speed

So is that just a billet plate to replace the shift boot? I'm sending you a PM, I'd bet Jim at SJR Precision could build you one, and I'd let him use my OZ to measure and test fit. Heck, if it looks good enough, maybe I'll buy one too!
Could probably make one with a circular plate.
My only concern is if an aftermarket shifter would change where those rails need to be. What kind of shifter does this car have?

I'm not sure how well it would work. You'd be exposing the mechanism to an awful lot of dust and crap that it normally wouldn't see. Since so many parts are literally soaking in lithium grease, it might seriously gum up the works.
Also, our shift gates were designed to be close together. I don't know if you could physically restrict the lever into something like this.
Of course, I've always been a fan of this type of mech. I'll buy one if it works well and the price is right. It should be easy to cut in a circle and mount in place of the boot.
