Unhappy A Funny Story . . .

OHk, so everyone knows ... i have headers 2.25" cat back and a short ram intake.

Now lets get to the story.

So my friend has one of those beltronics things that measures your 0-60 and hp and ****. So, we set it up in my car tonight, and put in my cars specs like weight and crap. And then i do a run.

0-60 like 9.5 i think it said, i didnt really remember because this isnt what im worried about.

It said my hp was like 65 the first run and then 73 the second run. Now ... i know our cars dont have that much hp, but does anyone else have one of these gadgets and know why it said the hp was soo low?

Im just a little confused. Because we tok out his twin turbo volvo s80 and it was said it had like 245hp which is pretty much right. and then mine seemed way off, i would of tohught i had atleast 100hp lol.

what was the weight in which you put into the device for the car? Did you take into account for: 1. weight of people in the car 2. weight of the gas tank being full and 3. weight of sound system? That could affect it ??

that number does look very slow however. you have an auto or MT?

i dont have my sound system in anymore, and i read the wieght of the car on the mitsu webpage and added 150 pounds.

So i think i put just around 3000 pounds if i remembre correctly. But still, i mean 100hp - thats kind of crappy lol. i cant wait till i can get my turbo or suprechargre and just freakin be at 200+ hp

This device... it doesn't account for crappy traction/tires? Sounds to me like it just takes your 0-60 time and calculates based on weight how much power it takes to propell that weight to 60 in that amount of time. I bet if you got a good launch you'd get better numbers out of that thing.

well its kind of hard to get a good luanch with a an automatic.

and i mean if you stop and acutally think, if the car is taking nearly 10 seconds to get to 60 it probably doesnt have much over 100hp if that.

hp doesnt get you to 60, torque does... hp keeps you there!

No, I paid $50 to test it on a real dyno (we have more than 60 hp I can tell you that)

i got an auterra dyno scan, and it seems fairly good. averaged out at around 124hp and 128 torque.

With these things you have to be fairly consistant and accurate when putting in your weight and stuff. If not it can seriously throw your numbers.
