That has to be a typo. When the insurance company see that . . . they'll kill you.

Engine wear down usually happens around +75K mileage. My G93 had about 96K for a '99 until its death by a full size dodge truck in Feb 03. After changing the T-belt, it felt good as new!

Maintain your car. It will treat you good.

For those bad Mitsu quality, those reports usually happen amongst the 3g eclipse and past galants.

I have 89,000 miles and I am strong. Just need to replace my timing belt and trans fluid pretty soon.

these cars are pretty tough. it's totally absurd to say that they fall apart. now if you are talking about cheap interior parts rattling after 15k and paint being totally worthless then yes, that part about them sucks.

Ive got 90K miles on my 03 lancer, other than normal maintenance and getting the timeing belt replaced, all belts and the water pump replaced (all changed as per the maintenance required at a specific mileage), and I replaced the brakes on the car. Havent had any problems with the car, still a great daily driver.

i have 105k on my lancer and it drives great. my old subaru had 137k on it when i crashed it. as long as you take care of the engines they will last quite some time.

I'm just breaking thru 80k this week. I've had it since it had 40k.

Wow, I put 40k a year lol.

Anyways, The only thing I've dona was the A/C compressor(was in accident), Brake pads, and oil changes of course. I'm usually a bit late on those . But other than that, she still runs like a pup. Oh forgot, and air filter, and battery. The battery ran out right when I installed my system, and my gadgets lol.

I do believe the Lancer is very reliable. Rare, but decent car. I still can't find any Lancers at junk yards. I would love to get some interior pieces, but my luck hasn't come. Not even Evos!

I believe OZ's sell a lil more than ES. Just find you a 5 spd ES. Nothing special about the OZ except their 15 INCH RIMS!!

I also had a 95 Ford escort with 260+k Miles on it. Parents handed it down to me, and my step-dad did his regular maintance on time. The car lost a lil power, but would still run like a champ!

It will all depend on how you treat your car.

not like that sway bar is even worth mentioning though... it's pencil thin and the perches are junk anyway.

my neighbor's sister just got a 3000GT and that thing has the same crap sway bar, too. the suspension looks more complicated than our lancers though.

progress FTW!

i have had my lancer for just over 5 years now and i have ragged it to within an inch of its life for just about the whole time i've been driving it. it definately shows some wear but is holding up outstandingly considering what its been through. equally reliable as civic or corolla. failure is exception rather than rule.
