I know a couple of days ago some Northern California Lancer fans were pulled over for having a modified car. Last night, I was pulled over on the 8 in San Diego in...a BONE-STOCK 03 Lancer ES.

The officer stated that he felt as though I was trying to race a Corvette simply because I passed him on the right. The real-deal was that his lane was slowing down, and I was about to exit to my house and didn't want to miss it.

After running my record and finding nothing, and looking over my Lancer, he said I could go, but I wanted an explanation of what happened. Basically, the CHP has a "list of about 15 cars that are known street racers and will be pulled over if they appear modified or exhibit the intention to race another vehicle." I got pulled over because of circumstances beyond my control, and the letters L-A-N-C-E-R across my rear deck-lid.

If they are pulling over 29-year olds with three kids who only dream of having cars like most of you on here, imagine what they are capable for actual racers.

 

Ive been pulled over because they thought i had an illegal evo when i drive a 03 ES with chrome hubcaps.

my friend has a 94 cav with a wing and loud exhaust and he gets pulled over all the time, i drove his car once and got pulled over for "not signaling to get back in my lane" and "speeding"

....i was passing someone in a residential area, who was doin 25 in a 30, i sped up to like 35 to get around him, and i DID signal! my g/f even saw me signal!

i told him my friend had a concusssion and seizure at school cuz someone hit him in the back of the head and i was taking his car home from school and the cop just gave me a warning

 

What the hell is an illegal evo... did it come over on a raft or something...

damn, that sux, i have a bright yellow oz w/a few mods. i havent been pulled over yet due to being a "potential racer" knock on wood, lol

 

They just dont really care in my area. I got tints all around. The Wing. Everything, Super white bulbs for headlights and turning signals. Unless I speed or race. they dont bother me.

 

Glad I took off the trunk letters now.

 

Paranoia. Cops in LA seem to be more aware of the Evo. They don't even look at me, which is a good thing. Perhaps they are desensitized?

Thats blows man i just got pulled over for my tints. I was just in an area where cops are known to be ******. He prolly heard me coming and decided that he was going to get this kid. Oh well **** happens.

 

I got pulled over when I was driving my OZ Rally! The State Trooper said that a "Thunder Grey Evolution was in the area racing!" And this was about 2 months before I got my EVO or didn't even know the MR was coming(Since they are the only Grey ones I have seen in magazines not on the street)! I just laughed in his face and he let me go!

 

I was just in san diego last saturday, going to some indian resort casino place outside temecula and some cop was following me and pulled me over. Said my exhuast was too loud and i need a res, i told him, its not loud... its just when i give it gas the air flow is increased and it shoots out, he told me... than dont give it gas

 

Yah cops are like that out here too (Santa Clarita) my friend was pulled over the other day and the first thing the officer said to him was, are there any modifications to your manifold ;o LoL. Now my friend also drives a '90 Accord with a Skyline kit LMFAO

But yeah back on topic - kinda lame that they are just looking for model names
