Hello from a 3000GT buddy and question on EVO specs.

Hi guys,

I'd just like to say hello from Switzerland and the Team3S International club (3 = 3000GT, S = Stealth).

Also, a friend of mine bought an EVO6 Tommi Edition and we are startign to modify it. Can anyone give me some numbers on what are the ballparcs for this engine, max boost before any stock system colapses (fuel, turbos, heads, rings, pistons) ?

Thanks in advance

You should be fine with stock engine parts up to about 1.5bar, to get there look at the following

1. Exhaust - don't forget/dismiss decat and turbo elbow. I'll be changing mine to 3" all the way down with a Blitz Nurspec (straighter line then others and the stock exhaust)
2. Air filter - personally I'm going for Apexi with airbox, airbox relocation kit (so its straighter) and heat shielding
3. ECU - either a remap e.g. PE or Ralliart sports ECU OR a replacement ECU e.g. GEMS, Link, Motec etc. If you go for a remap you'll need a boost controller too, the replacements tend to have boost control built in (I'm not sure off the top of my head if any of them don't, I'm sure that someone will point out if they don't though )
4. fuel pump change - the cost here is the labour

You may run into problems doing the exhaust in Switzerland due to tight controls on emissions and noise, consider a performance cat maybe and smaller tail pipe.

All of the above is right and like Claudius says the conrod bolts are something of a mystery as some people say they have to be uprated for over 1,4-1,5 bar pressure but then there doesn't seem to be anyone that has shagged their engine because of big-end bolt failure. There's a person that knows a lot about Evo's in Switzerland, Scoobymike, maybe he can help you further.

Thanks Michael for giving me those credits! (Check your mail)

Roger

give me a call on 071/225 23 79 during worktime so we can discuss that a bit. I own a modded TME so can give you some advice.

Didn't you once post a write up on the net about installing a Blitz DSCB on a GT3000? Good description.

Hope to hear from you

Mike
