This sucks, what mod should I get next?
Yeah, so whats my next mod i should get for my lancer? Ive already got the custom grill, I got the axelback exhaust, got the evo VII wing painted (silver)/installed. debadge lancer and es & I got new tires (hankook-ventus) and rims (konig zeetes *sp). I also have the evo VII depo tails on the way and im bidding on some eyelids. So whats next. Well i would think engine time, thou today i was getting my car washed at the dealership (for FREE). I asked the service guy, what voids my warranty and he said anything and everything done to the engine, WHAAAAAAA!!! He asked why, i told him i was gonna order and intake and turbo from RRM, and he told me if i put it on, say bye to my warranty. This sucks, he explained how the intake alone will bring up 'check engine' light, so that voids it. So im saying now, what mod should i do next? I really dont wanna void my warranty... but i really wanna do some engine mods. So now what can i do without touching the engine?

What a crazy dealership.
Turbo I can see why.. but intake shouldnt be a problem. Heck at my dealership they have an eclipse showcased outside with vinyls, an aluminum wing, sideskirts, CAI, exhaust etc. And the dealer themselves ordered me my intake.

The intake won't turn on your CEL unless you don't install it correctly. I'd say go for some performance mods, but warranty is an issue. You could always go for the piggyback ecu from RRM. That should be stealth enough when you go to dealerships.
dude he bull****ting you. They can only viod your warranty if they can prove that its your mod that cause the problem. So if there is a tranny problem and you have a cai they have to cover it bvecause it has nothing to do with each other. But they can try to talk **** and say because of you "mods" they wont cover it. All you have to do is know what your talking about and be very direct and they cant screw you over to bad. Some one in a different thread said that he threatened to call his lawyer and they started kissing his ***. But thats only when worst comes to worst. Just dont let them push you around.
Just curious. If something like a SRI voids the warranty on your car and your car happens to break down, why not just quickly change back to the original factory intake/filter system before you take it in for repair, assuming you still have it stored someplace? Who would know?

Actually these 2 do have something to do with each other and it would be easy for the dealer to blame the increased performance from the intake to have caused damage to the tranny. The tranny was designed to work with the output of the engine in stock form - any changes to the power will upset the balance of the car so if the dealer wants to be picky they could get out of pretty much any engine/drivetrain claim just from an after market air filter being installed.
