I'll sum it up for you right now.

Follow the instructions that come with the piggyback to the T. You can use the tap connectors that come with it, but soldering the connections will always work better.

1. Disconnect the battery, and make sure it is disconnected for at least 15 minutes before reconnecting it. Usually the install takes more than this, so you will be fine.

2. Make sure you quadruple check the wire you are tapping into before you actually make the connection. This was the number one problem I, and many other people have had. Follow the diagram on the instructions and make sure you are tapping the right wire.

3. Make sure the vacuum line is secure on the piggyback end, and in the engine compartment. If this is not secure, you will notice a very loopy idle.

4. Once all connections are made tape them with electrical tape and ensure none of the wires are exposed and interfering with each other.

5. Reconnect the battery, start the car, and let it idle for a good 15-20 minutes.

6. Drive the car around keeping the RPMs under 3000, but varying the RPMs as much as possible. The best way to do this is stop and go traffic. The highway/expressway is not a good place to do the break in. Drive for about 20-30 minutes before turning off the car.

After all of the above has been completed, you are good to go. Try not to drive the car really hard for the first tank of gas, that will allow the car to get used to most conditions. Then you are pretty safe to go nuts with it.
