brainstorm compared it to the xede. basically he said that itll be better because it has a 1/10th resolution compared to xede's 1.

hi I am currently looking at the UniChip aswell. I need a piggy back system that offers me the most control over fuel and timing. I know the F-con SZ does this, but it is about 3 times the price(installed and tuned). What is the best ecu for my current needs out there right now?

The Unichip and the XEDE have a lot of similarities and its from my understanding that Vishnu was using Unichip before hooking up with Chiptorque and coming out with the XEDE. Personally, for the homie that's speaking with Brainstorm performance about this, I'd do a search on this site about Brainstorm in general. There are some stuff said about them plus, I've called them before and they are EXPENSIVE. After considering this and you still want to go with them, go ahead.

I myself am going to go with Unichip after I recover from the expenses of my head package. Its just that i've been researching the product for a while and I don't really want to go with the crowd on what they're using etc etc.

I had a Vishnu unichip installed on my WRX. The unichip design is showing it's age becuase the WRX's ECU was able to adapt to the signals sent by the unichip negating any significant benifets that it is supposed to offer. It stayed on the car for about 2 weeks until I had the ECU reflashed (with much better gains than with the unichip)

Besides hooking inline to the ECU, that's where the similarities to the XEDE ends. In a nutshell, the Xede has a far more advanced design than the unichip.

Here is the website for the unichip

If that is what they told you, they are giving you misinformation. Few years back, we were the largest Unichip seller in the US. They did what they needed to do. There were no other better alternatives back then. Now there are, IMHO.

How about the new Greddy E-Manage Ultimate?

I think now it controls A/F and timing out of the box (but I'm not very sure).
