N/A Lancer SET UP

2002 Lancer OZ stick
-Kamikaze headers
-Test Pipe
-Magnaflow exhaust
-Cold Air Intake
-RRM ECU

that's almost 160 hp right?
and what's next?

Whatever throttle body will give is not worth the money.
Camshaft + CamGears = not worth it unless Turbo charged.

So what can I do next???
Other than turbo or NOS???

HELP

Stop smoking wet.
  • Get your car on a dyno. I bet the WHP is closer to 120 than it is to 160. You can't just add the numbers on the boxes to/posts to get your HP rating. For perspective a turbocharged Lancer at 5psi runs at just about (a bit more than) the HP you've estimated.
  • The cam and cam timing are very important. I can't think of a single larger door-opener mod for power gain on a naturally aspirated car. From valve timing your power flows hence.
  • The throttle body is very worth it if you want to take your modifications to a higher level. Not to mention the throttle response you gain is night and day from a stock tb.

My suggestion on what to do next would be to research and get your facts straight before you buy anything else. And if you want to know how much HP your car really puts out, get it on a dyno and take a few pulls. Expect to be disappointed though judging from that 160hp figure. It's unlikely even at the flywheel. The mods you've done are fairly mild (I/H/E, piggyback is only the tip of the iceberg). You've got a long way to go.

gregivq - sounds like a good setup. I'd go with the RRM intake manifold and throttle body if i were you.

good luck

BTW, the reason I said to stop buying and research is because it seems so many people are quick to just take suggestions, whether well-informed or otherwise, as good advise and to mod accordingly. Well this leads to several annoyances, two of them being the spreading of misinformation and the lack of variety in modifications. You're better off reading. Learn what everything does. Learn what products are good and why. Then decide on your own what you want and can afford from your car and how to get there. These simple steps seem to be those most often overlooked by people modifying cars.

ok mods, but you would benefit more from cam/adj. gear over all those mods together... anyways.. like hobie said, read up... cams and gears can make a huge difference in either power or fuel economy... I believe someone on here had it done and got almost 40mpg before timing it up to performance instead.... bored tb and matching intake mani will help with launching somewhat too... plan on spending money if you really wanna stay N/A....

Well, I knew 160hp would sound a little bit too much (didn't expect a big difference like that).
I guess there are few options:
-go with new MIvec enigne (but how much RPW?)
-or think about getting a supercharger/turbo/nos???

I know what does what ...............
Maybe I'm thinking about horespower in the engine not on the wheels.
Anyway
Where can I get some more information about camgears/where to buy/how much/
where to adjust them properly???

If you want big power, you gotta go with forced induction.
If you want to get a MIVEC find a wrecked ralliart, or buy a new one (ouch) from the dealer.

RacingPerformanceWorks mentioned something about it on their website.
This week I'll try to contact them and find out where can I get it.

Drop some hyperground cables in there (or make 'em yourself if you're cheap), maybe hypervoltage/voltage booster too. It might not boost your HP/TQ all that much, but the clean power curve and faster throttle response (not to mention milage, I'm getting like 30City/34HWY with mine) are worth it.

Hobie is correct. I used a Dyno scan tool by auterra, and got roughly between 123-127 hp most consistent was around 124hp. Torque was generally between 126 and 130

i have Kamikaze headers, Rmr intake, rrm TB, greddy exhaust, rrm piggy pack

Ok so what if I'll get the same setup as Stumpy221? + non-intercooled turbo kit from rrm?
How much HP???
Would it be worth it?
Then I can go farther with IC?
I'm just kind of unhappy with Lancer being so dang slow.
Well maybe not as slow, it supposed to have 120hp (in the crank).
but on the dyno it has only 102hp so what caunts is the wheel power.

anyway
just give me some info how to make my ride faster.

thx a lot
