Thinking of selling my OZ..
Well, guess you guyz and gals made a mistake by spending all that money for your Lancers and now selling it at a loss. I know I made the right choice by buying my Lancer after doing my homework, I looked at KIA Rio, Hyundai Accent, Suzuki Swift+ and Toyota Echo hatchback and I knew the Lancer was the best bang for the buck !, I didn't even look at the Honda Civic because their cost was totally crazy, for example a "4" year old base 2000 Civic with just AC and 85 000kms costed more than my fully equipped 2003 Lancer with just 15,000kms on it ! I can't ask for anything more. You got to compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges, you can't say your getting a Saburu which almost costs double of that of a Lancer to be in the same category, in my professional opinion the Lancer is a QUALITY product.

I stand corrected! Laugh away my man
But that's not a lot of difference in weight, really. Plus, you can stow all of your AX stuff in the rear and haul it to the track.... I'm running out of room in the Lancer for my stuff (and I certainly can't bring the spare rims)
Also, regarding insurance, Subie's have MUCH better crash ratings all around than any Mitsu.... you might get an insurance break for owning one

Haha check out my "im gonna sell my lancer story!!!" About a week ago i wanted to get rid of my OZ lancer and get a used 2002 WRX with 25k miles. So I am at the dealer and I got my car appraised. All I kept thinking about was how many great things everyone had to say about the WRX. Allwheel drive, 200+bhp, turbo!! So I'm leaving the dealership (thinking about the Subaru) then whammm!! I went over a curb and ****ed up my just appraised car!!! Well the damaged was only a flat tire, for a week I drove my dads Durango. Today was the first time in over a week I drove my OZ and man it really made me appriciate this car. I guess what i'm trying to say is that sure this is no WRX no GTR not even an SI. But this car is pretty punchy if pushed the right way. Personally I'm gonna stcik with my Lancer and do the whole turbo thing. However like they said already this is what is right for me, so you guys do whats right for u guys! Laterz
Its up to you what you want to do with ur car. I traded mine in for an Envoy and never looked back. Lancers are nice cars to have and all but we all have to move on sooner or later.
traded my 2002 lancer es and got 6k for it. im just waiting for my 05 gt to come in. also, gt is about 30$ more than my lancer - insurance wise.
trading in is better than selling it privately. trading in deducts from the car cost - whatever is the difference is then taxed.
anyhow, GT is better. i had my lancer for only a 1yr and 7mo. and i didnt feel safe anymore. it felt like it was going to break. maybe its b.c i bought it used.
final word: trade it in now for a gt.

if he bought a celica or mustang ill laugh, haha j/k
mustsang gt's arent that great(from 94 on)...i mean...4.6litre...SOHC...3 valves per cylinder....come on man, some ppl just now started modding them out and got 525 hp out of it....but it was expensive. they even called it the 'cheap' mustang haha
anyways, i wanna sell mine for a camaro v6, turbo that...and yeah i think i'd be ok than

Don't worry, friend, the 5k was a joke.
Yea, we have a 2002 Lancer ES but I'm scared of modding it. Why? Because it's our only reliable car. My 72 Maverick has a broken throttle cable, my Civic keeps overheating like crazy (for 2 years now) so I don't want to fix what's not broken, you know what I mean? If the Lancer goes out...God help us!
Maverick = Still running after 300-400k-500k??? miles, who the hell knows....gotta love that inline 6. (cast iron block, cast iron head, cast iron *****!!!)
Civic = Screw that "Honda reliability" crap. Engine was DEAD at 142k miles. Replaced the motor. Not much improvement. Don't get me started on how many times this car has been towed/worked on/stolen/broken into...
Lancer = Running like a brand new car at 45k. Except the brakes squeal a bit.
I have VERY VERY bad credit. I may have to settle for a piece of ****, but at the end of the year, hopefully...HOPEFULLY...I can sell my Civic and get a Lancer Ralliart. Nice styling and features of the Lancer with a better engine. I swear I love our ES to death...but I know it's not a sports car. It's a VERY GOOD family car and it's an excellent value for what you pay for...but the Ralliart is calling me. I think I'll let my wife drive her ES, buy the Ralliart, and turbo that **** until Mustang GTs and WRX's are like "Was that a bullet that passed me?"
HA.
