iv been wanting to sell my lancer for a while and i almost did about a month ago for a used wrx but i didnt cause im in college now and really if i would have spent the money on the wrx i only get to drive my car like once or twice a week, so im just saving and after college(which is still4 years away) im thinking evo or i really like the elise, i cant even imagine a turbo or super charged elise haha, but in 4 years i dont know what will be out, the evo may be dead and th gt-r and supra should be back out so well see

ya... lets turbo and mod an auto lancer! the warranty is gone.. reliability sucks... the car is slow to begin with and would require all sorts of internal work just to keep up with a stock legacy.. and the winter time should be fun too. screw the lancer.. get a subaru/get fast/get a warranty/get AWD. plus the resale should be a lot better. Lancers dropped almost half from MSRP. they arent worth ****. if you love mitsus so much just get the evo. beats spending time and $$ un turboing a car that isnt meant to be.

 

There is a lack of enthusiasts for the car. Draw yourself away from this site of people who own the car and like it and go to another car forum and nobody likes it. And I did buy the car because nobody else had it.. in my area. Mine was the only one anyone saw for months.. I was the second person to buy one at the dealer when it came out.

 

I see the free ipod thing was taken out of your sig... this site kills me.. they prolly think its fake.

 

I've been debating selling my lancer as well, I have a friend who has business contacts in Canada, and can get a skyline for dirt *** cheap.

 

Turboing a car that isn't meant to be? People are doing it all the time and they are getting good results out of the lancers. Talk to the guys at RRM or the guys at RIPP (supercharging) and they will tell you that our little econobox has some potential. Sure were not an Evo or a STI or even a Wrx, but who gives a flying fredo. We own Lancers and are proud of that.

Why is it that people with other cars like to put down others. Why do you have to hate? Why is there all of this "mine is bigger than yours" stuff? I try to see the best in what everyone does, so long as its done in good taste and the driver really likes their ride in the end.

Just keep in mind that many of the guys on these boards are trying to tune their cars to be something other than a Evo clone. You can verbally put down the Lancer all you want man, I'm cool with that, but don't call into qeustion the heart of some of these guys... Aren't we all enthusiasts?

And did you ever think that maybe it isn't all about being fast, I know I can kill a civic or a even a camaro in some hellacious twisties (cause I've done it)? We each got our own style.

And lastly on a personal note, if I got the Evo, and I could have, I wouldn't have any money to do anything else to it. I am quite frankly glad I got my lancer. And I am glad I have the oppurtunity to mod it the way I want to.

PS- Someday I will own a Evo but I will keep my Lancer as long as I can. I love this car.

So you throw on a turbo and spend all this money for what?? the sound? If you're doing engine work just for the hell of it and not speed then... i dunno.

I think the new subaru legacys are beautiful cars....if you got the $$$, more power to you!

 

I think the other guys answered what I was trying to say pretty well so I won't address it directly. Just be cool. You don't have to like what I do with my car. And I'll never ask for your apporval. You can even say you don't like it and that's fine with me. But to dis the effort, the time, the money, and the heart of what we are trying to do, that's just messed up.

By the way when I last checked the Evo wasn't the fastest, the best looking, or the most luxurious car in the world. But I don't suppose that's why you got it. I'm just guessing but I suppose you liked the style, and what it had to offer. Which is the reason I'll get one when I get out of college over a Skyline or anyother car.
