Thinking of selling my OZ..

I'm thinking about trading in my OZ next year for a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Ltd. Any thoughts on this? I'm just bored with the OZ, the lack of enthusiasts for the car and the slowness of it.. Check it out: http://www.subaru.com/servlet/showro...mmand=overview

You're kidding me right? Listen, the Lancer isn't a sports car. It isn't even a sporty coupe. If you wanted performance, why'd you buy it? It's a cheap man's family sedan. Although with the right money, you can make it a sports car, but that's up to you. I'd still rather have my Lancer than some Subaru, I think they are ugly cars.

No sh*t. I know it isn't meant to be fast but when I bought it I was the 2nd person to buy one from the dealership I purchased it from and I liked it because it was new and nobody had it. I also spent almost $19,000 on it and that was a big mistake; it isn't worth that much at all. The "right money" is too much money for this car because it would take a helluva lot to make it fast. I think I'll just spend the $25-30,000 and get the Subaru that comes 250 hp. turbocharged stock and spend some extra $ from there. It would be more well worth it.

Not sure if this is a factor in your decision but, insurance is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper for a Lancer that was modified w/ FI than a stock turbo'd Subaru.

Granted, there is more room for modification if you go w/ Subaru, but the only real main difference as of now is the AWD. With the right mods, a Lancer can be just as (if not more) powerful than the stock Subaru while still paying for the same premium.

the lack of enthusiasts for the car
Not quite sure I understand this statement, because there is a board full of them here.

Good luck w/ whatever you may choose!

The insurance factor, the Legacy is still considered a 4 door wagon, so that should cut the insurance gap a tad. I don't blame you, I'm just keeping my Lancer because it's economical and very comfortable to drive. If I really wanted fast, I wouldn't keep it.

Cory - $5k? Trade in value is $8-9k so private sale would be more. Sorry. I plan on trading it in anyways.

discreet303oz - Besides the enthusiasts on the board, everyone I know thinks the car sucks. It is economical as urbanknight said and comfortable and nice looking, but just doesn't have enough power for me. Oh yeah, I don't think spending the money to get 250 hp. out of the Lancer as the Legacy has would be really all that smart. It would cost a hella lot for it. It's fine if you buy a Lancer used maybe, but when you spent $18,730 new, you don't really see it worth it.

urbanknight - I'm not getting the wagon.. I'm getting the 4 door sedan but being a 4 door, it should still help out on the insurance a bit. My driving record is clean anyways so that sure helps a lot too.

Buy the wagon, my favorite thing about the Legacy even from the 1980s is that it looks like a grocery getter yet it blows the doors off many other cars on the road!

do whatever you feel is right for you. i've had my lancer for over 2 years now and did the whole turbo thing, and guess what, im selling my car too. i picke dup an acura 3.2 CL-S, has a lot of raw power and is a real luxury to ride in. so do what you would like best, don't listen to some of these people.
