how much carbon fiber is to much
Yeah the vinyl has the same characteristics as state police graphics they have on theri cars. It looks three demesional and reflects light at night. It was all custom designed and cut, so the design time alone was 40% of the cost. I have won numerous trophies for my vinyl graphix scheme. It is VERY tastefull, yet completely off the hook. A lot of hard thought went into the design aspect of it.
Actually I am not going to invest in RRM cf engine dress up kit because of the price alone. I am going to be having many of my engine parts (accessories) wrapped in real cf very soon. Some things like: fuse box cover, radiator cover (will be custom made then wrapped), all resiviours and caps, oil cap, a custom battery cover is being made as well as a engine shroud. What an engine shroud does is cover all of the unneccessary parts of the engine during a show or even. It will be molded to fit over my engine, exposing only the morot, radiator, and other essentials. I am currently designing a full cf enclosure for my trunk to house my new system that will be going in this winter. Its kinda been a pain doing all the calculations in terms of air flow and space for the magnets to breath, but it will be worth it in the end....I hope.
Tomorrow I am going to be taking the "blacked out headlight" trend to a completely new level. Instead of painting my headlight housing, I will be heat wrapping it completely in cf vinyl that will match perfectly to the cf TYC tails. Heat wrapping for all who dont know, is the process of using a torch and vinyl to stretch, bend, and mold the graphics to certain materials and contours that would be otherwise unachieveable. I hope it comes out sick, but I dont know just yet. It is going to take me about 6 hrs of heat wrapping to finish each headlight. One will be done tomorrow and the next on sunday. I will keep you updated and will post pics as soon as i am finished.
As Always,

Oh yeah, my girlfriend reminded me that when you get carbon fiber, be careful around fire. This Audi we saw at Buttonwillow Raceway caught fire (thanks to NOS on board) and the fire crew couldn't get the hood open because it melted shut. See pic below.

thats chopped isnt it? i dont think it is too much anyways, i think it looks good. kind of like having a diff color paintjob but it helps performance as well.
