yeah man.. to many people on here go so crazy over CF! IMO alot of CF is tacky... unless you are REALLY trying to do some serious weight reduction or something (functional)

a little cf here n there is okay(wing n interior).. to me atleast

If I get a CF hood or trunk, I would just paint it.

if its real CF it wouldnt be bad but if its just pressed on with 3M tape then it might be a lil too much

havent really seen and lancers on this site go to far bc there arent too many replacement peices made of cf. only exterior ones are the ood, grille, reflectors, trunk, wing, and outside b pillars. thats not to much to me.

look for carbon creations' rsx-s and rx-7. those cars are very tastefully done even though the only things that aren't carbon fiber on those cars are probably the door panels and the roof.

IMO, i think carbon fiber takes a little 'getting used to'.. hell, if they made a carbon fiber front end cedia conversion for our cars [fenders, hood, bumper, grill], i'll take it in a heartbeat.

I'm not a huge fan of the look in large amounts personally. If you do the cost per pound saved you'll find CF tends to be ridiculously expensive. Figure out what works for you. If you really want to save weight, there are better, far less expensive ways than adding CF...like removing unecessary parts, dampening materials etc.

well then again, it blends in with our color cars almost perfectly. the only time i guess you can tell if something on our cars are cf is when the sun hits it and shows the weave.

but i guess why pay so much money for something like that? probably for more show points, weight reduction?, or maybe even just for bragging rights.

I agree. I have some CF under the hood, like a plug cover and a radiator cover, but you can only see it if I pop the hood. CF is very nice in small doses, but it is easy to put on too much.

why would you paint cf? youd jsut be adding the weight back thus no weight reduction and then it wouldnt be for show bc it wouldnt even look like cf, seems pointless to me.

heh yea i know and anyways i think the majority get carbon fiber just for looks because it can show how rich they are because they like 2x more than fiberglass. I don't mind looking at carbon fiber hoods trunks etc but yea if i did have a carbon fiber body kit i would paint it in a heartbeat.

It would add back some weight, but it would still be lighter than stock. If you're going to paint anyway, aluminum is a better way to go. Personally I'd rather have aluminum over composite any day just because it's more solid and I wouldn't have to worry about the resin coat (I'd be obsessive).
