Whats the difference between GSRand RS2??
Hia,
i`m in the market for an Evo6, and theres a place local to me thats selling the RS2, now when i rang them up, they said they bodywork was exactly the same, but the seats were different? . now i really like the standard GSR, in what way are the seats different and what are the other differences between the two models??
Rich.

The seats are a little bit different. The RS2 DOES NOT HAVE:
- AYC (the POS that keeps your car from sliding from the back)
- climate control (only A/C)
- rear wiper
- 2,6 steering
- ABS
The RS2 is a much sportier version. lighter. But still has A/C, electrical Windows and mirrors.
I used to own an RS2 and now have a TME. Liked the no AYC and no ABS situation. Like the looks and seats and turbo better on the TME.
2,6 steering means that you have to turn the steering wheel 2,6 times to go from complete left to complete right. On the RS2, this is down to 2,2.
If you are a good driver in the sense that you can make the car slide on purpose when you feel like it and that you can get the tail out on braking and then drift out of the curve under acceleration, get the RS2. If you think it is better to have ABS now that it is winter time etc, get a GSR.

Thx Claudius
After i posted i found this.......

Seems to have some very good features, though i didnt realise it didnt have ABS or the AYC. The latter i`m not to bothered about, though i would like the ABS, and i have to say after just seeing a picture of the interior the seats would have to be changed imediately, hence more expense!
Think i`ll go for the GSR, if i can find one around here!

The funny thing is the Tommi Makinen RS-2 has AYC and ABS but the Evo6 RS-2 (non-Tommi Mak edition) does not.
RS-2 doesnt have auto mirror fold-in but the GSR has it.
RS-2 antenna is on the side but the GSR is on the rear window
Evo6 RS-2 comes with the crappiest taxi seats. You have to buy some good seats for it.
RS-2 has titanium turbo but not on the GSR.
RS-2 is also lighter

In the UK the TME comes in either GSR form or RS. Not available as RSII as Claudius and my car are. Again standard RSII doesn't have quick steering rack. Drive one and you will notice that within a few meters.

I have to say, the TME RS-2 with the 2.2 quick steering rack has awesome steering!!
Just point the car in the direction and step on the accelerator.
Havent tried a GSR so I cant compare.
The Evo7 2.0 steering should be even more precise.
Anyone care to comment on this?
The WRX has a measly 3.0 steering. haha.
Event the STi has only a 2.6 ratio, like the Honda/Acura RSX.
Not so much of a driver's car.

In the UK we had the RSX (which I have) which is based on the RS2, but with Recaro SR seats.
It has the 2.2 quick rack, but the same gearing as the GSR. No ABS, or AYC. Does have elec windows and A/C though. Also has colour coded mirrors and door handles like the GSR.
The A/C is manual, not the Climate COntrol on the GSR>
It also has the bigger titanium turbo+
