Lancer Help

Hello My name is matt and I am new to this site
I recently purchased a Silver 2003 Lancer OZ, I love the car but I want some more kick for the engine. I would like to try to put around 220+ horses to the rear wheels. I know about turbos, Cold air intakes, exhaust etc. but I would like some1 to please help me decide what different parts and their makes to purchase. I have about 5000 to spend so please keep this in mind. I also apologize if i put this in the wrong forum. Thanks for ur time.

*edit* PS-I wouldn't like to have to do an engine swap

umm well first of all it wouldnt be on the rear wheels, but the front.... and basically the best thing you can do with that 5G's is spending it on a Turbo kit from RRM. Which will give you around 220 Horse... and that would be like all ur money...

first off, the lancer is not rear-wheel drive, its front... secondly if you have 5000 to spend your best bet for 220+ wheel hp is to go to www.roadracemotorsports.com and look at thier intercooled turbo, cost about 4000, with the other 1000 buy a header and exhaust, rotors and brake pads... if you have a manual also think about short shifter... if you have even more money get a bored throttlebody, bored intake manifold, RRM ECU upgrade.... its easy to spend 5000 on a lancer and still not be completely satisfied.... get about 8000 hehe

anyways, that website is a great place to find parts specifically for the lancer... but look around the forums... this is an excellent place to learn about anything and everything you might want to know about the lancer... most people have broken this car/engine enough to tell you the limits!

good luck and welcom!

^^ what he said...

theres other 'performance' places but to get 220 to the wheels RRM is the most used route, thers also RPW and RIPPMODS

RPW makes a turbokit(although ive only heard of like 2-3 ppl with it) and RIPPMODS makes a supercharger(that most ppl despise)

lol. now its all said... well like everyone said get the Turbo Intercooled, Header , and Exhaust. clean setup. or go for Turbo w/ Stage 2...might have to save a little more but would be worth it.

I'm personally still debating this ?. The only reason why I would go w/ supercharger would be the low end (no turbo lag). Other than that, it's a decision I'm not looking forward to making until I got the money and my babay is readay!

like discreet said... the SC creates power across all rpms... so low end power/torque is nice, but you have to remember about the losses of a SC as well such as it uses the engine to power it, not the exhaust....
As for the TC it has more power top end, which is what you would use if you race etc.. plus the turbo from RRM is or will be CARB certified... the SC is not..
