Lancer Help
if you look at the dyno from the SC and at the RRM turbo it makes more power than the sc thruout the entire rpm range. That's the difference of having max boost at 3k rpms versus 3-4psi at 3k and then ramping up to max at a little over 5k rpm.
The SC has advantages over lag but with the turbo chosen on the RRM kit the spool up is super early. All you have to do is rev it up a little bit in first and you'll launch better than the SC... then it is all top end power. From there you have to compare them above 4k rpms and decide which has more to offer.
The SC does NOT put down 272(5 speed) or 252(auto)... they dyno'd the 5 speed at a max of 222whp and 218wtq... at the crank that is maybe 255hp(5speed). The auto has yet to be dyno'd by RIPP due to an engine failure on their test car. The auto test car is back up and running so a dyno should come out shortly.
As it stands now the Turbo output =
242 WHEEL torque at 4700 rpm
233 WHEEL H.P. at 5250 rpm, 9 psi, 10-1 AFR
On 91 octane pump gas(5 speed)
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=RRM+dyno
212WTQ at 4975 rpm
227WHP at 5210 rpm
10.5:1 AFR @ 8 psi on 91 Octane pump gas(AUTO)
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=RRM+dyno
SC output at 9-11psi Stage 2 for Manual
222whp
218wtq
never really saw any dyno's just got the numbers from RIPP's post.

Either way you go you get the lancer making the power you'd expect a lancer to make. Going turbo or SC is all up to you and your feelings on both. Just compare the dyno's and do some searching about the kits. There are only a handful of SC's out right now as they are new to the game. Their are over 100 RRM kits out and about. Read and see which suits you... you may find enough on this board to go completely custom. Just take your time and be happy with your choice as either way you'll be faster than any NA modded lancer could hope to be.
^ Im not sure about the states but in Ontario Canada Aftermarket Turbos are not nesserally aproved because blow-off valves release exhaust gas in to the atmosphere. A SC is a good alternative to turbo. Either way they are both great systems and forced induction is the only proven reliable way to acheave those numbers with your lancer. Good luck with everything and welcome to the forums.
I think you mean external wastegates... Blow off vlv's just release intake air that hasn't hit fuel or combostion of any kind. Most custom kits use internal wastegates as they are cheaper and come on the turbo's. RRM uses an external but you can pipe it back in like i did and a few others have. The SC can't really be legal due to the need to have an aftermarket header eliminating the cat.
Right now they are all illegal kits so go with your gut and butt dyno i say as legality has nothing to do with them yet. Most seem to choose the sounds over the power... they are all close to max output so it ends up being more of what pleases you about the kits. Add up the pros and cons and decide off that and your searching. Can't go wrong if you do that i'd say. Good luck!
