Ebay CAIs

Are those CAIs I see on ebay for $60 garbage, or are they actually quality intakes? I want to know before I blow my money on one...

im not sure.... i know that in the future I'll want a turbo kit (after I finish paying off my car first) but right now i want a little extra hp and that deep throttle sound that comes with a CAI... not sure, but will prob. just go all out on a nice one and not waste time with a cheap intake... thanks for the info.

they're junk. brackets will break and seals will crack within 6 months. my advice is if you by a car for thousands of dollars don't put 50 cent pasts on it. remember these parsts void warranties so go with trusted names. RRM, AEM, INJEN, etc.

The old edict of "you get what you pay for" still applies. All told, I've read similar threads that weigh the pros and cons of these intakes, and I guess if you're willing to periodically check up on the seals and brackets AND able to install one without part-specific instructions (not that tough), you'll probably do just fine.

If you go that route, however, I would suggest picking up a proper K&N filter.

I've got one. I bought it thinking that I'll switch up in w month and get an Injen. I figured that they were garbage. Then I put it on. Very impressed. My friend has an Injen, and he was nice enough to take his CAI off so we could sit the two side by side. I swear it looked like they may have come off the same bending machine. But that's my opin, and everyone's got one. What is not the same, and has been replaced on mine, is the filter. That's what I'd recomend if you buy one. Change the filter........

As for the void your warranty comment......I just too my car to the shop for the 30k check up...and I asked about that....the service guy got the service manager to come talk to me....and qoute...."If what you add to, or subtract from you car causes a problem it could void your warranty. But if an intake causes a problem your better off junking the car anyway." yeah, that's a little vague, but it wasn't and hard yes.

Think what you will. One more thing....I'm a little hurt by that ugly comment........I think it's beautiful........
