30,000 miles

Well I'm about to hit 30,000 miles on my car and it's going to get serviced. So I called the dealership and told me $425. That's crazy!!!!! I could def. get it down cheaper right? Where should I go and what should I do? If you could help me out that'll be awesome. Thanks

It's the 30,000 mile service. I think they check everything, change fluids, rotate tires, crap like that. I don't know what that cost but 425 seems expensive.

A friend of mine is doing the 30kservice on my EVO for around $200. I think the dealership charges over $400 for a 30k service on an EVO. $425 does sound like a lot though, esp. for a regular Lancer.

The dealership told me it'll take a few hours which means like 4 b/c the dealership is sooooo slooooww with there work. And they quoted me it'll cost $425. I don't know...is there another place that could do this for alittle cheaper? I mean I was about to buy my RRM Header....now I can't b/c of this service being so expensive.

True, but EVO takes synthetic engine oil so cost is higher there. For a few more bucks you can get synthetic gear oil too.

Where could I go to get it done cheaper? Anywhere? Or should I just stick to the dealership?

Here's what you do:

Look in your manual and see what the 30000 miles maintenance is, do the stuff you can yourself (fuel injector cleaner, change oil, flush radiator, plugs, etc). The rest (idk what else is needed that I didn't just say) have some shop like Valvoline or something take care of.

yeah, i agree do all the stuff u can on your own. you will save yourself alot of money and appreciate your car a little bit more i think. Then just have a shop do the rest, maybe 50-100 i dunno what else that has to be done, but thats beter than 425

I've never had a dealer do one of these type services on any car I've ever owned. It's not required for the warranty. The quick change oil place will do the same thing for less than $100 if you don't want to do it yourself.

If I take it to someone else and for some reason something goes wrong a week later say.... do I get screwed and can't get it covered since I went outside of dealer?
