Lightbulb Ring meet, let's organise

European guys, there's been lots of talk about a Ring meet, I thought let's start organising it, otherwise it'll never happen because of scheduling problems (I know, I know, mainly me )
How about March?? Would that fit into the schedule of the MC posse, or would you guys prefer summer? We could have a smaller meet in March or something and a big one, let's say end of May/beginning of June? Any thoughts?

Seriously, if you Americans want to come and meet up at the Ring with us, you're more than welcome.

Claudius, really, you spend almost 7000 POUNDS for a suspension and then you can't afford 1000 EUROS to drive up to Germany?!? It will never cost 1000 Euros anyway and I'm sure you can go and visit some grandma who's gonna give you 500Marks because she'll be so happy that you came all the way from MC just to see her... Besides, you can stay at my place if you want to, that way you'll save money, poor man

Count me in, like said before, any day, any time. As for Claudius, he seems to chicken out everytime we try to organise something. If it's too expensive for him, lets do some fund raising between the guys who go. Wouldn't we all like to see Claudius get beaten by a diesel on the Ring
As for staying near the ring, if some of you are passing Belgium on the way to the Ring, you can always catch the night at my place and drive the next morning, it's only 2 hour drive from my place.

I think we should really make it a weekend thing and stay at one of the hotels if people are going to come from far away. That way we could also party a little bit, if there's interest... Although there ain't much around there to go and a have a good time, well that would mean just lots of drinking which I would be up for, if pushed hard enough...

Thumbs up

Michael

sounds good. Personally I would prefer it in April as I've to pass some tests in March and have to get some upgrades on my car fitted before. Biggest worry still is my back. Will have to do loads of exercises to drive again hard on track. But you always have to set yourself goals and getting in good shape again and having some good fun with you guys is one of it!

As I've to drive around 550 km one way a weekend would be ideal. The Dorint Hotel is an ideal place with motorsport bar, nice rooms and best of it engine sounds from the very early morning on!

I'll take my Swiss Evo mates with me as their keen on driving at the "Gruene Hoelle".

Gerrit can show us the lines, very useful indeed otherwise you'll feel lost.

Cheers

Mike

Obviously we shouldn't get completely out of our faces with the next days driving in mind, but you never know... Also, we don't want to get too drunk and start fights with anyone that happens to be around Although if there's Scoobydrivers we could swing a hook or two...
The Dorint sounds good, although I don't know how expensive it is, I think I might prefer something a bit smaller for a better athmosphere, I have to say bars of larger hotels aren't really that attractive to me. I've got a colleague who lives around there and he has sorted people out with nice places to stay around the Ring before, so I'll give him a shout. Maybe Gerrit knows a place too?

Not sure how I missed this thread! I'll be in for it too, nothing like putting 1000's of miles on you car is there!

I'm sure you've already thought of this but how about inviting some peeps from the MLR too? (and before you start I know what you think already but there are some good people on the board)

I'll be happy to post something let me know

I will order the street legal racing tires tomorrow!

March or April sounds good! Make sure there is no race that weekend. I will bring a few racers as well. If you think I am fast...wait till you see these guys!

We should maybe stay in some 'German' place, like Mutter Rieder. Very cosy, great (German!) food, close to the Ring, good parking; Audi test drivers always stay there as well.

We will have a nation cup!! Andre and I will be team the Netherlands!! Or Europe versus the UK (Movit vs. AP)

No real racing though. We could come up with other, less dangerous ways of competing.

Lets meet on a smaller scale before though!
