Lancer Differences

I am helping my girl build her car up and was wondering the differences between the models.
She just got a 03' es and was wondering what is different between the oz and ls.

I know the oz comes with rims and rear sway bar but what else?

Oz, has ground effects, which make the car look so much more sporty- God i wish my parents could have afforded the Oz at the time. they also have a spoiler, which is okay. i have an evo 8 spoiler, but umm, the interior looks wayy better. leather wrapped wheel, and handbreak, dark colored seats, and the dash is darker, also the speedometer is evo styled.

Are the suspensions different. I noticed that the some springs don't work for the es and only for the ls and oz.

basically, OZ = better right out of the box, ES = more room for mods and customization, LS= luxury version

I'm gonna guess here.. And this is just a guess. I could be wrong

ES = Economy Sedan

LS = Luxury Sedan

Who knows if I am right, but it was an uneducated guess.

I did a search and couldn't find anything specific. I thank those people who posted good answers. If you can find the other posts about this question I would appreciate it if you can put a link up. Thanks.

The was actually a whole thread asking that question around here somewhere. They went into ES, LS, LX, DS, S, R, SER, yada yada yada. but yeah, economy sedan and luxury sedan, and OZ is just the label of rims that justify hiking up the cost another $1000 or so.

The Oz and the Ls have different bolt patterns for the rims than the ES. The Es has a 100 x 4 pattern and I think the LS and OZ models are 114 x 4 (somebody correct me if Im wrong). So whichever one you might get, remember that if you ever change rims.

The suspension is different, the OZ and LS come with an undersized rearsway bar (helps with handling)...the ES doesnt come with one. But you can do what I did and get the rearsway bar from www.roadracemotorsports.com with the autocross perches, which is much stronger than the one that comes stock on the OZ.

There are visual differences like a lip kit and different interior but if you or your girl are planning on totally redoing the car for shows or something its probably worth it to get the ES because you'll end up changing most of the stuff on the OZ anyways. Plus you'll save money by getting the ES and you can put the cash you saved into getting upgrades for the ES right away.
