turboed lancer vs 2003 maxima
anyone have any idea what it would take for a turboed lkancer to take a stocc maxima? i know there hella quicc but my boy keeps putting my lancer down and i wanna prove that after turbo i may be able to take his car in 1/4 mile or off the line...both are autos

Running an auto he's going to have a huge advantage over you because of the difference in displacement and therefore torque as well. His powerband will be a lot meatier and yours well...it won't be because your car will tend to shift in the best part of your powerband (though I don't know exactly how the adaptive transmission might change that). You're asking a good bit to keep up with a fairly high output NA 6 like that...much less beat it.

If it's the 255 HP Maxima SE we all know and love, I'd say the Lancer is in trouble. The auto tranny isn't going to hold 8 PSI of boost safely. 6 is the hypothesized magic number for boost on autos.

Yeah, but they get what they pay for...power, styling and a good bit of luxury. 
I'd write this off as a loss unless you get your tranny beefed up to handle heavier boost. Otherwise you'll be lookin' at those semi-narsty tails for the handful of seconds that count.
