Take off the 4 10mm bolts holding down the coil packs. Unplug the 2 wires from them. Pull the coil packs up and off. Pull the wires up and off. Unscrew the plugs. Then do everything in backwards. Quite possibly the easiest change you can make on the Lancer.

Hmmm I was just concerned because the guy that change my spark plugs used some kind of a tube to unscrew the plugs.

You'll need to use a sparkplug socket (comes with most tool kits) and an extension to unscrew the sparkplugs themselves. And another thing to watch out for is when you're pulling the wires out, try not to tug on the wires themselves. Use the base of the wires so you don't damage them.

Like Ghostrider said, a spark plug socket will do just fine. They're pretty deep in their though, so I'd recommend using the SP socket insead of just a regular socket that fits. The SP sockets are magnetic and will hold onto the plug so that it will come out with the socket instead of leaving you to fish the socket out with something else. It'll make your life a lot easier.

Should be fine.

Just make sure that they carry BKR5EIX-11. Those are the Lancer plugs in the NGK IX series.

i don't know if its the same for auto but my 02 OZ takes the NGK BKR5E-11 and i put in the NGK BKR4E-11 in mine. It's the exact same plug just hotter. Stock Num 5424. They add little bit of power and i still haven't even done the wires yet.
