ok so i was just wondering if anyone on here had actually thought about or researched what it would all take to do an evo8 front end conversion.

i mean granite i love my oz and all but i really love the front end of the evo8 plus the hood just rocks! the whole front end, catches my eye a bit more than the oz front.

so i was just wondering if anyone new just how much work the front end conversion would really be. and i'm talking like hood, bumper, and possibly the headlights. because unfortunely you can't just switch out the stock oz hood with a stock evo hood because they aren't the same in any means. the stock oz hood goes down to where the grill is at and the evo's don't.

anywho if anyones knows anything about the conversion let me know i'd like to get a lil insight on what i'm getting myself into before i do it.

 

I posted a comment in a similiar thread just the other week. Please search to find you'd be better off with a Evo VII front end conversion (or just buy a used Evo).

 

alright i know that the Evo VII is a lot more similiar to the oz front end. up i don't like the hood. i prefer the Evo8 hood and front end. its got a lot better look to it.... this look of aggression kinda. i dunno i mean don't get me wrong i'm considering the Evo VII but i still prefer the 8. i have two friends with Evo 8's and i just love the way there front end looks.

there was an evo8 conversion coming out from accolade, but you dont want to buy anythig from them anyways.

 

You have a bad experience with Accolade??? I like their products, though I got my Ken kit second hand.

hey thanks for the link. it kinda helps me get a perpective of what i'm getting myself into.

oh and just for the record travelsize420... i actually have done some research about the evo8 conversion and it doesn't exactly seem like as much as a project as some say. and in all honestly it really isn't going to cost millions QUIT stretching the reality and or the truth. oh and you say i'm gonna get slammed for starting this thread... why is that? all i am asking for is mitsu's owners opinions, and whether or not if maybe someone in a different state might know more than me.

if you ask me your the one trying to slam me. and if you ask me i think your just hating on me, because of some stupid reason. i mean come on... you own an oz just like me. you can't honestly sit here and tell me you haven't once even thought about an evo conversion... no matter what type of conversion it was!


WELL GUESS WHAT?!?!? ~*~NOTHING is impossible... if you have a passion and such a love for cars than some people (like me) will goto any degree to accomplish great and different things. some people (like me) don't want to be like everyone else and will go out and do crazy completely original ideas to there cars. i'm not about to sit here and be like "one with the crowd." yeah so some of the ideas and plans that people have for their rides are the cheapest and definitely cost, but isn't the end result what matters most?

1. how do you know that he knows more than i do.
2. you don't know how much i know and how much i don't know. because as i stated i just wanted to hear from other people and get their opinions
3. for all you know he could know the same amount as me if not less.
4. maybe he does know more than me. but if he does than he doesn't need to sit here and tell me i'm going to get slammed for this thread. so what if people tell me its impossible nothing is impossible.
5. a evo VII conversion is possible which would mean and evo VIII conversion should be possible
6. yeah he is a mitsu owner but you would think with him having an oz just like me... he wouldn't stretch the truth so much and make things seem impossible
and 7. i don't care anymore because you would think this site would be more about helping out other evo and lancer owners and to some degree it is. but whatever.

sorry if wanting other peoples opinions in different states is a sin, but wow i thought i was just seeing if anyone else had attempted this conversion.

2. You should know to search first. If you would have, none of this would have happened because you would have found out how much work it is, and how expensive it is.

5. Any conversion is "possible". hell, if you wanted an 83 cadillac front endo on your lancer, you could. but would it be worth it??? You could buy a second lancer for the price of converting yours to look just like an evo viii almost. and the evo vii kit is a direct bolt on. i have it, and it was installed in less than 5 minutes. it's a piece of cake. accolade does make an evo viii kit for the new body style (04+)

7. I wouldn't give up on EvoM because one of the 30,000 members told you something you didn't want to hear. There is a lot of useful information on here, but you have to search. more times than not, someone else has already asked the question you want to ask, and gotten an answer for it. The search button is your friend.

yeah know i just don't care anymore. theirs my new attitude. because i did search within EvoM for a topic like this... but i didn't find one that really went this just this certain conversion. all i'm concerned about is the Evo8 conversion. (because i know its possible and its not all that much money as some say because i know a guy with an oz who did the Evo7 conversion and it didn't cost him an arm and leg).

anyway yeah this site may have a lot of good information and a lot of knowledge but i don't care anymore. i was told about this site, in hopes that i would enjoy it. and ever since i "tried" to be apart of it all i've been doing is getting told not to do this or not to do that. or its too much money or some other ****. you would think this site in general would be a bit more supportive and not so negative. but whatever.

this site can do its own thing, like me. because maybe i will just keep my car completely stock who knows. i'm sick of people being so judgemental towards me. granite its one person, but in general you would like they wouldn't be so rude or mean. i'll use this site to be close to the people i know with evo's or other lancers. but as far as getting information... only time will tell. because if i could delete this thread i would.

this has turned into a nasty thread. lets stay on topic. Evo 8 conversion would be pretty nice and I have seen the accolade pics of it. Even if there kits dont fit properly which ive heard (dont know first hand). thats a lot better then building your own front end. the evo 7 conv is all over the place. they sell the kits with hood included now. Its just as easy to put ken kit on as it is just to swap it for evo 7. except for doing something with the hood latch but thats beside the point. I say give the evo 8 conv a try. call up accolade. mabey if you are one of first to do it they would put your pic on there site. lets all be nice lancer owners now.
