if you are talking about piecing together a conversion with actual parts from an evo, then you will probably be in for a ride. the work is much more extensive than you think. if you want it all to fit then you will probably have to chop up everything to fit and form with the US lancer body. the evo body is wider than ours, so it will definitely not be anywhere near a direct replacement. if you want to do it, you are better off just getting a used evo for like $21k

Its just as easy to put ken kit on as it is just to swap it for evo 7. except for doing something with the hood latch but thats beside the point. I say give the evo 8 conv a try. call up accolade. mabey if you are one of first to do it they would put your pic on there site. lets all be nice lancer owners now.
WOW!

so like i totally ignored this thread for a few days and all you guys posted something. i definitely appreciate the support mistuozboi. i think its kinda funny how some of these oz owners are sitting here talking crap about me, but whatever.

i'll definitely have to check with accolade and see what they can do with working with me. i'm not trying to take an evo8 front end and put it on my car. i just want the conversion. i know it might be some work with getting it to match up right, but its worth the challenge. and i haven't giving up. i want the evo8 conversion WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY AN EVO8. and i'll do it... it just takes time.

I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what goes into a direct evo 8 swap. You would have to go to a body shop and they may be able to tell you whats up. I don't know if you have a daily driver, but if you get an accolade kit, be sure to know that they are made out of cheap fiberglass or "PFROEREJFDRP plastic" whatever you want to call it. IT WILL BREAK EASILY. You keep saying that your buddy did a evo VII front end swap. How did he do it? Import trenz, accolade or was it custom? If you do end up going through with it, be sure to make a thread about it so other people who are interested in doing this procedure will know what to do. Check out the kaminari front bumper w/a ralliart grill (or VII grill) It changes the whole front end of the car, looks really nice, and its easy to do. Whatever your decision is, good luck.

That's is because they're the same except the Evo used diff. chassis, and that's why it's easier to swap an Evo engine into the Mirage.

Btw, just don't do it unless you have money to do the front end swap, but good luck if you ever do. If you can't afford to buy an Evo and still want to drive that look like an Evo, just buy a Mirage, it's way easier to make it look like an Evo, and they wide body Evo conversion kit for it too. Just my .02.

Errr, I quit , was just searching about this thread has the same topic where they compare 02-03, 04-05, and Evo, where the fender bolts in. I can't find the pic.

Btw, I hope you're not going to do just the front end and forget about the rear, because if you do, you're front end swap will be useless.
