After dealing with squealing belts for a couple weeks, I got around to replacing the belts. First off, what a pain in the a$$. I still have a slight chirp from the belts when I give it gas. The tension on the belts is right, and I think it might be coming from the belt tensioner/idler pulley. I quess it is possible to tighten it to much. Any help would be appriciated.

 

if u tighten to much i think they can break

 

Anyone, I can't get rid of the annoying chirp.

 

my guess is that the belt isn't quite tight enough or its the pulley making the noise

For lack of better terms, I just kept tinkering with it until it stopped. I have a nice metal rash on my right forearm now.

 

Good to see its fixed. I bet that rash is pretty sweet, ahh the joys of maintenace.
