Question Battery Problems

Ok well i have to do a few things to my car in the next few days and it involves removing the battery from my car... see the problem is that i have the RRM piggyback installed also and if i remove the battery it will loose both of the settings that i have on them... so is there a way where i can keep the ecu and such alive while i remove the battery from the car?

Just spend the 40minutes and run your car through the initial start up procedures again. (Idle for 20min, drive under 3kRPM for 20K) turn off for 15 minutes and your good to go.

Just set another battery on the ground somewhere and connect it using jumper cables. Then remove the one under the hood and your good to go

Not just everyone has a spare sitting around though... Is there another option for this?

Have a friend with a car come over and use his battery like mentioned above with jumper cables while you take out your battery.

What would be the point of that? You will still be running a charge through your car, that would defeat the purpose of disconnecting it.

no its because im disconnecting the battery to get to the transmission and under the battery for some wires im running. but i think the battery to battery with jumper cables will work excapt it might be hard unbolting the clamps with the jumpercable there.

I also heard of a way you hook the smaller 12V batterys you can by in the stores up to your DC outlet and it will somehow keep your cars power on? does this work? and where can i find one, bec. ive been looking for one now?

check on ebay they have setups that plug into your cig lighter and have a 9volt battery on the other end which will keep the ecu and the radio alive . . . but not for long from what ive heard.
