SKunk2 Coilover Kit

who has installed one of these on their 2002 OZ Ralley edition?

did you run into any issues installing your Skunk2 kit?

do you have and ES/LS/OZ?

were your coilovers much smaller in diameter than the stock springs?

did you have any issues with their placement and such?

I am fixing to do mine really soon, but cannot afford to have my car INOP for a very long period of time. I will need to start and finish this task in one setting and not have issues that cause it to be a 2-3 days ordeal.

thanks!

I've got Eibach w/ Ground Control Sleeves...

Issues - had to run to Sears to get the OEM strut nuts off and the spring unsprung safely... If you've got a impact wrench, you'll be good.

OZ ed.

Rear springs are about the same dia, but the fronts are about half (maybe less) in dia...

No issues with placement (whatever thats means)...

I'm pretty sure the skunk 2's are coilover sleaves and not a true coilover. Stay away from this type of coilover unless your car is for show only. They will destroy your struts, strutmounts, strut bearings aswell as have a somewhat unsafe ride quality.

my brother had these on his OZ 2 years back. there were no issues installing them....they rode super super hard and had a tendency to settle on their own without having been tampered with...in other words, you'll wake up in the morning and one side of the car will have lowered itself 1/4 inch. the springs that skunk2 provides with the sleeves are marginaly smaller in diameter than stock springs. they installed really easily though.

i don't recommend these. his camber was thrown off BAD, struts were shot within 2 months....lets just say they destroyed his suspension....as my Ground Control sleeves are doing to my ride now

i installed mine today.. i have an '03 ES and there is no issue with fit-ment.. in the rear there are o-rings that make the sleeves fit very tightly over the struts.. and in the front the sleeves get held in by the dust covers on the shocks.. once everything is installed and the car is on the ground.. everything is perfect.. i lowered my ES 1.5 inches in the back and 1 inch in the front.. i have little to no bounce.. i would say this is a very good product..

check my links for pics..

All Ebay and $100-$200 coilovers are almost Universal fit. Meaning all of the springs on them are the same size.

So they are smaller than the stock ones.

I would highly NOT recommend these. You will lose all of your suspension. Struts would go out in a heart beat, etc. Plus if you hit the smallest bump, you would feel it like you hit a curb.

Just rides super hard!! I wish I could of givin you a ride when I had mine on. I had to get rid of them, and bought some Progress Springs. Waiting to get Eibach Coilovers in the spring.

I would save up for some really good coilovers. No cheap ones!
