Cedia headlights fogging

I recently installed some Cedia headlight housings. They look great, but everytime I turn my headlights on, I get a lot of fogging over the high beams. I turn the high beams on to dry clear them up and I get fogging over the low beams. I have searched this problem and I can't find a good answer.

This is what I have done so far.

1. I went around the entire seal with new silicone.
2. I checked all the o-rings around the bulbs.
3. I checked the housings for any visible cracks.
4. I checked the rubber boots that go over the high and low beam bulbs.

I hope someone can help me. It is getting to the point to where I am considering putting the stock housings back in.

I had a problem with my stock headlights fogging after I blacked them out. The problem was their was a leak around the seal of the headlight. I reopened the headlight and wiped out the moisture. I sealed it back and then used some plastic welder to completely seal the entire headlight. What I am trying to get at is that there could be a possible leak in the seal. So one solution (if worse came to worse) would be opening up your headlight cleaning out any moisture and then resealing. The problem I'm guessing now is that you resealed your headlight so now the water vapor is trapt in the headlight. This would cause the constant fogging. However, this is just a guess of mine so there could be another problem.

I drilled a hole in the bottom of my stockies, and that seemed to stop the fogging

yea my fogs up too ... after i painted my housing black ... my driver side headlight keeps fogging ... i've re-open and re-sealed many times ... and its all fine till i wash my car ... i've just learned to give up and live with the fogging!

**if you dont feel like taking it apart ... simply take a blow dryer and let it blow into the high light ... that will clear them up ... untill water gets back in them .... just maybe sure after using the blow dryer ... let them sit for an hour or so ... so the can cool down to room temp...

good luck with yours!

Open the headlight...wipe out all of the moisture. Reseal and then used some sort of glue or silicon to seal all around the headlight housing (I used plastic welder and put it in the inside of the gap before I put it back in the oven to reseal it). Then you should be good to go. I had the same problem.

I really don't want to open Cedia housing. That will be a last resort. I tried the hair dryer trick, but I don't know if it worked.

Here is a question to anyone with the Cedia housings. The high beam uses a 9005 bulb. Does it matter if I used a 9005XS bulb?

How big of a hole did you drill and where in the bottom of the housing did you drill it?

so does the drilling the hole thing really work cause i'm bout to get some cedia's soon and when i install them i dont want this to happen after there in. rather do this now instead of having to take them apart clean them to get the water marks out, etc, etc.
