02-03' Projector Headlight Project

Ok guys one of my buddies got new headlight recently because one of his got busted (deer). He has a newer sonata and the low beams have projectors. He gave both headlights away cause he didnt need them anymore. The guy he gave them too (my best friend) sold the good one on ebay and he kept the other one and was going to try and see if he could make the projector work on his car. Well a few months later when I noticed that he was just using it for a paper weight i got this great idea, Why dont I use it where my blinker goes and maybe do some rewireing to make it my lowbeam. It might be too hard to align them so I might just have projector blinkers. Well I dug one of my stock headlights out of the garage to open it up. Poped it in the oven and like the dumb a$$ I am forgot to turn off the top burner. So I fu@%ed up one of my headlight lenses. Good thing I am not using them. If I get this to work I will have to buy a new one but I am not worried about it now. The thing is, the lens sits too low in the headlight. I may have to make a spacer to lift if out some that way the bulb will fit in. Well here are some pics of what it might look like and a pic of my little accident. Go ahead and laugh, I would.

it looks like if you make a bigger lip, that it will fit where the lense cover fits in the small groove

I will take some more pics whenever I get a chance. I plan to make a spacer or something to lift the lens away from where the bulb goes.

Ok guys I have not given up yet. I am still trying to make the spacer thing. I have a sheet of carbon fiber that I am using to bring the lens out away from the headlight, but that crap is super hard to cut and making 2 perfect circles is harder than it sounds. I just started cutting today because one of my buddies had my dremmel tool. This will take a lot of sanding to look good. I will also line the edges with something that way it wont look like crap. Whenever I get the first adapter finnished I will post pics. If I can pull this off I will be the only person in the world with (real) carbon fiber, projector headlights for an 02 lancer. Wish me luck.

already did the whole projector retro fit with hids on my car, 03 OZ rally. Really expensive and time consuming... if you are going to take the time and do it, order some real projectors off ebay from audi, BMW, mercedes, s2000, etc. you will have better light output and it will work very well. don't waste your time with the cheap stuff.
