Question Hardwiring question!!!!

I'm tired of the dealership yanking me around about my cig lighter. I have a Cobra 10 band radar detector, model # ESD-9210 and was wondering if there is a way to hardwire it to the car so that I do not have to plug it into the cigarette lighter. I thought I had seen someone who had done it, but I'm not sure if I overlooked it or not when I searched. If there is a way to do it, can someone do a how to or would I be better off trying to get someone else to do it or just trying a new dealership since I have moved? Thanks guys!!!

Ben

Got to Best Buy and they have a kit to set you up with... Believe BB carries Cobra, so it should work with it.

Maybe I overlooked that! You know what it's called? I got my rd there when I used to work at the one in Michigan. That employee discount was nice too, even better on my 2-way remote start. Too bad the people at the Cary store were so stupid that I had to quit! Anyway, thanks for the info. Anything else I should know or look for?

This is what you want (not sure if it will fit your model though)

Cant you just cut the lighter plug part off and run one wire to the ingition and ground the other? That way it will go off when you kill the car. You could even hook up a switch if you wanted.

splice the power into the cigarette lighter power wire.

Yeah, according to the BB website they can't sell them on the site. So just wander over to that section in the store you'll probably find them there.
